Password Vault Apps

I've been using TrueKey by McAfee for several years now and I'm completely satisfied. Great functionality across all platforms and no issues. Definitely worth a look as an alternative.

Ooo you are brave. I just don't trust McAfee for my personal stuff.

I use SafeInCloud and love it. One time fee and I've had it through 4 phones now and everything transfers flawlessly.

Sensible decision.

One of the reasons this is my first and will likely be my last Samsung phone is the fact they try to push McAfee anti-malware on me. Greedy forkers!

No McAffee pre-installed or suggested on my AT&T S10+. Maybe it is a specific carrier pushing it.

Is anyone using the combo of Lastpass with an S10+ with Firefox as their default browser?

If so could you contact me via PM.

What's the issue? You mean Firefox on phone or PC?

I specifically mention Android and Firefox on an S10+.

I've tried about five different password apps on the S10+ but, so far, all seem to have issues with using Firefox and I'm not about to switch to Chrome. I've found that support seems to be really poor and I've given up on that.

As a last ditch effort to get a password vault app setup I was looking for someone with the same phone also using Firefox as their default browser and would/will offer to pay them in order to work with me to get a password app setup and actually fully functional. I do not want to take up space or time in the forums but would provide help privately to me in exchange for compensation.

Technically it should run through the OS and not care about what browser... I guess that's why I'm confused on the issue.

Pretty much all of them have instructions that talk about issues with Firefox. The apps seems to have been designed around Chrome and, therefore, require special measures in order to work with Firefox. Butbafterbfollowing (I thinkl) their directions things don't seem to work. When I contacted support for one of the apps they informed me that it doesn't work that way even though their written instructions said it would.

So you can go to any app and the password manager works but in Firefox it doesn't?

The question sounds simple but to fully answer would require a long explanation. The two apps that I spent most time with were Lastpass and 1password. Lastpass didn't seem to work with white a few things. 1password worked with most websites but I could get to work with apps (I really only tried a couple of apps). But weird stuff was happening when I tried using 1password. If I tried to make some changes in my profile info one website 1password would setup another login for the site and label it "incomplete" and I couldn't figure out how to get rid of it. I ended up with two Facebook logins, one normal and the other labeled "incomplete" (in red). But, both logins would work. With Amazon I ended up with three logins, one normal and two labeled incomplete.

When I tried to deal with 1password support it became evident that each email to them (even just answering their email) went to a different support person who couldn't be bothered to read the previous emails and so we just kind of went around in circles. It was totally frustrating dealing with them.

It seems clear that some people have these working so I wanted to give it one last chance by seeing if someone would be willing to spend some time working with me by phone to try to get this working. I'm willing to pay a reasonable amount of money for the direct help.

I mentioned Lastpass but am willing to try another if some is currently using it successfully with my configuration of an S10+ running Android 9 and with Firefox as the default browser.

Roger. Just to be sure you setup auto fill under the settings? By auto fill I mean this... https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bl...r-favorite-password-manager-android-oreo/amp/

Thanks for the reference. I did all that. The last app I tried was Dashlane and I had changed passwords to secure passwords and it was working but i could get it to work with non web based apps. And, earlier i mentioned another app as adding the incomplete items to my list. I spoke incorrectly, it was Dashlane. I have no idea what i did wrong to cause those not did i have any idea how to get rid of them.

Your response has been appreciated.

@racedog As for filling a password - I just used Roboform to fill one in Firefox on my Pixel 2 XL running Pie. I don't use FF often on my phone so this was kind of a one-off test.

Are you concerned about saving paswords through FF to Roboform also? I just tried but the one site I actually needed to save a password for actually doesn't play nice with Roboform at all, even on Chrome on my Mac (some are like that).
