People receiving your phone--how is the signal strength?

In dBm (NOT bars) is your signal strength better or worse?

Is the Rezound with ICS? Otherwise the #s aren't comparable. If they are, that's a huge difference.

This happened on my old device so I don't think it's limited to one device.

It happened to me a LOT on Sprint with my Evo. And I could retry several times before successfully getting content. So this is a huge improvement. Sprint's data around here was just terrible. Now in Ohio, where my girlfriend's family lives, it was amazing. But that's only useful to me a few weekends and holidays a year.

WiFi also works significantly better than on my Evo.

-103db average in the house. That's fine though since phone calls work fine and I have wifi everywhere.

So I think my device does have a radio issue...

Was told by the store manager that I could come in and get my device replaced during tonights midnight release and they'd hold one for me. I went in I would say within 15 minutes of talking to her on the phone but she had already left. The current manager told me that there is no midnight sale and I would have to take my chances with any extra's that don't sell tomorrow.

I said I would be fine waiting until tomorrow and she changed her tone and said "Uh, oh, all our stock is currently being held for customers who asked us to hold one for them so we don't have anymore actually" so I think they just don't want to use one of their stock to replace my device.

I know my 4g is having issues because another employee had the same S3 phone and he was getting 11mbps while I was getting 1mbps in the store when we did a comparison test.

After doing a hard reset I am averaging between -76 to -86 at my home. My Maxx usually averaged between -72 to -89. I am getting 25+Mbs down and abut 12Mbs up consistently. I am also getting three bars of 4g in my basement which is about the same as my Maxx. If this keeps up I will be keeping the SIII. The call quality is excellent as well even through my cars Bluetooth system. I also had a GNex that usually stayed around -100 DBM and could never get a 4G signal let alone a 3G signal in my basement. I am very surprised and flabbergasted that I am getting his type of signal from a Samsung device.

The readings suggests a little worse coverage, but the reception seemed great. But the key is that after two days of experimenting, I have not lost 4G (in San Diego) nor had a single data disconnect, which my Bionic never could accomplish. In short, I'm thrilled.

I had 0 lag with Google Play Music today. I used to get skips all the time on my way to work with my DX2.

Sitting in the same spot where I was at 100 last night, and I am at 95 now.

Saw 76 today when I stopped for gas near my house.

Sorry if I missed this somewhere earlier, but why did you have to do a hard reset? Did you just do it just to try and improve the signal, or something else?

EVO LTE on 3G at 92. The GNex I tried for a few weeks hovered around 100 in the same place, but the other real issue for me with GNex was the weak wifi range. No thanks, Sammy radios.

These are screen shots of a speed test and signal strength at the same time. Not bad for supposedly having a "crappy" radio.

I went from about -90db from the Thunderbolt to around -100 on the SGS3. I can still make crystal clear calls without a problem but the numbers don't lie.

I get between -97 and -108 on an extended 4G network. I can check my father's Maxx some time when it updates itself to ICS.

I had a similiar experience. Since day 1 of receiving the phone, my 4g service was terrible where I was getting connection errors and about 1-2 mbit d/l. Went to the store and did a comparison with the display devices and my phone. Display devices were 25-35 mbit d/l and my device was between 4-6 mbit.

Store wouldn't exchange my device until I called customer service to complain and note my account to authorize it. Just left the store with my new device and the first speed test pulled 35 down 19 up. At home, where I was 1-2 mbit, I am now getting between 7-9 mbit.

Hopefully you have an easier time with the exchange than I did...

I'm taking my S3 back to the store tomorrow. I'm having WiFi signal issues, complete loss of data connectivity at times, and super slow speeds. My husbands Droid 4 (on 3G, no 4G where we live) consistently gets around1.5 to 2.0 Mbps download speeds. MyS3 is getting between 0.2 and 0.5 Mbps download speeds, so I think something is not right with the phone. Plus it keeps freezing up and I've gotten the No SIM, SIM card replaced issues with it as well.

Numbers aside (coming from 3G Moto Droid X), I am VERY impressed with the reception on this phone. I work every week in the same operating room. With my Moto Droid X, I could barely get enough reception for a call (1 bar, poor call quality) and trying to pull up a webpage was painful - went back and forth between 3G and 1X and even when on 3G, it was extra slow. I had my Galaxy in there for the first time yesterday - maintained 4G with (subjectively) wickedly fast browser (did not have time for an actual speed test). I didn't make a phone call, but it was holding to 2 bars steadily.
Numbers don't lie, but neither does actual real-word experience. So far, i am very impressed. I thought it would be hard to beat the Droid X reception, but at least in this case the Galaxy performed better!

Signal strength has been hands down better than my nexus. I have not lost signal or wifi once.

I have to mention I do live out in the stix :). So far my GS3 is far better at holding signal then my wifes Gnex. My Gnex had the same signal strength as my wife's as well in my location.

Mine is seemingly having an issue connecting to LTE today. I've been solidly on it since Tuesday but today I have 3g at best and sometimes Chrome has been timing out.

I'm getting mixed results in my home vs my nexus. For instance in my bedroom my nexus was getting -93 while gs3 is getting -78. But downstairs in my living room, nexus is the same but gs3 getting -117. I don't talk much so really don't have a clue about drop calls on either.
