PH-1 battery life: Post yours

Made it 20 hours today from 0400 to midnight with 7:43 SOT and 39% remaining. Light day of vacation and web research for a project. On Friday I pulled 2.5 hours of call time and about 4.5 hours SOT with around 30% remaining.

This is lasting far longer than I expected.

How's yours been so far? Better or worse than your previous phone?

I've had different battery life. When I had pixel live wallpapers on my ph-1 I only got 4 hours of screen on time but now I get like 4.

I don't use the phone a lot.
On standby with only a little screen time, I can get 3-4 days.

I don't know how Essential did it, but even with that huge screen, it gets great battery life.

very impressed with battery life overall with 2 exceptions. 1. when i turn on hotspot, it seems to drain battery at a faster rate than other phones I've used. this is not a huge deal because hotspot is something i use occasionally.. 2. charging is a bit inconsistent. even using just the official, included charger it sometimes charges rapidly and sometimes charges slowly. this is a bigger annoyance.

Charged mine yesterday morning and now this morning says 66% 1 day 18 hrs and 24 minutes remaining. Will not charge before work today to see how it looks tonight. I would say this is the best battery life phones I have ever owned..

Picked up my PH-1 this week in the Amazon gray color exclusive. When I booted for the first time, it had 70 something percent remaining. I set the device up, updated to 8.1, downloaded all my apps, etc then I charged back to 100 percent.

I set the device up identical to my BlackBerry KEYone, which has absolutely fantastic battery life. On the first full charge with the PH-1, here are my specs, taken when battery was at 2 percent remaining.

- 1 day, 7 hours, 23 minutes on battery
- 9 hours, 16 minutes SOT
- phone calls equaled over an hour (didn't write this down but I remember looking and seeing it was like 1:20 or something close to that).

I have a screenshot of this that I took as well.

2nd full charge with again, readings taken when battery was at 2 percent remaining.

- 2 days, 2 hours, 6 minutes on battery

- 8 hours, 21 minutes SOT

- phone calls were around the 45 minute to 1 hour mark. I guesstimated this because when I looked at my useage, I was at 35 minutes of talk but I know I made 2 or 3 other calls that were like 10 minutes each.

Yeah, I'm extremely pleased with the battery life on this phone. As I said, it is set-up identical to my KEYone and is getting similar and even better battery life.

I'll admit, I have my screen at 25% (which is plenty bright for me), I very rarely use WiFi so it's off most of the time, BT is always on and only used when in the car for BT calling, location is always off, I don't use NFC anything, and I don't have any social media accounts (ie: FB, Twitter, Instagram, etc). I also have battery saver turned off.

Oh ok that explains a bit. Still excellent though. I'm coming from a Moto Z Play so the battery life isn't quite as good but the ph-1 is certainly a more powerful and interesting handset!

Just completed testing of my Essential's battery life.

I let my phone run down to 1-2%, record battery charge time and SOT, then charge to 100%.

I did this for the first 10 charges of the phone's life 2hich came to conclusion today.

For a 10 charge average, I came out with: 54 hours 3 minutes per charge and an even 8 hours of SOT.

My best battery life was 74 hours 30 minutes with 7:01 SOT.

My best SOT was 9 hours 16 minutes with 31 hours 23 minutes of life.

Some charges consisted of 3+ hours of talk time, some only 1 hour or so of talk time. I didn't record these numbers but should have.

Everyone is different and has different needs for certain things to be active on their device. Mine is set up how I need it to be and I'd say that it is far exceeding my expectations of battery life. This is better than my BlackBerry KEYone battery life and that had a SD625 SOC and a far smaller, lower resolution display. Blows my mind.

50% brightness indoors. No special battery tricks. Yesterday just happened to be a good day. That's why I started the thread. I'm curious what others are getting.

My former KEYone (3505 mAh) lasted two days on a charge with 20-30% left on day two. That was after calls, email, texts, web, etc.

On the PH-1, I just want a full day from a charge—even if it's occasionally running on fumes by the time it hits the charger. So far it's lasting with room to spare.

Why would you give up KEYone if battery matters ?!?

PH-1 I have media, wifi and other drainers shut off. I am a light user and consistently get 4 days battery life.
