Phone states processing failed for updates

I bought a galaxy s7 that I bought unlocked from t-mobile and currently using cricket. Every time I go to settings and try to download the software updates manually it says processing failed. I'm not a tech expert and I tried searching for answers but nothing seems to match my situation. Any suggestions?
 
Welcome to Android Central! Carrier-specific phones (i.e., those you buy directly from the carrier) usually have to be on that carrier's network to get the official system update over the air. This is because it's the carrier that pushes the update, not Samsung or Google. You could try using Samsung Smart Switch to do the update.
