Here's a couple more photos I did to compare the HDR camera app to the stock camera app. I forgot to do one with Camera 360 to see how it compares. I kinda like the stock camera picture better when the picture is bigger, but I only have the free HDR camera app and don't know if it is worth buying.

I love the no shutter Lag.

I have lost of fish tanks/fish and the instant picture makes taking photos of them great.
These photos turned out great, taking pictures of fish in a tank is incredibly hard to get a great pic. (reflection off of the glass, spots on the glass and fish continually moving)

So far so good

nice picture and betta fish. I also have fish tanks, and I know what u mean when u say that it is hard to take good pictures of fish. The instant shutter lag is great. And I managed to get some decent clear pictures of my fish.

Haven t taken any outdoor pics yet but the ones inside look like crap to me when seen on a computer at actual size. Most of the ones posted here look great to me and made me start thinking something was wrong with my phone til I realized they were a lot smaller than actual. I think the camera software needs work.

Okay guys, I have a little question!

Somewhat puzzlingly, my Nexus takes better outdoor low-light pics than my Thunderbolt did, and equal daylight out-door pics, but my indoor pictures are all complete crap! Just utter garbage! I held up my friend's 4S and my Nexus at the same time in incandescent light, and the 4S simply blew it away, no matter what the hell I did with my settings.

So, any tips for taking better indoor pics? Right now it seems that the camera is essentially useless, iPod Touch quality in orange light.

I like that I have an do real close up photos. I just need more battery longevity!

Try Juice Defender Plus. Helped me tremendously on battery longevity. Of course, if you use the phone a lot, the battery will drain pretty quick. Using Wifi instead of 3G/4G will definitely increase life.

I don't get very good pictures, especially indoors. Haven't tried taking many outdoors yet. I think the CCD is good but the software rendering needs some work. Maybe Google will improve on that in a patch. Some pics in this thread are very good, especially outdoor shots, but others have too high contrast and washed colors.

for what it's worth I've tried experimenting and the camera does take some time to get used to.
one little tip I have for indoor shooting is playing around with exposure levels prior to shooting.
other than that, idk what's with criticism against this camera. pictures come out lovely, it does exceptionally
well in low-light settings and the no-shutter lag makes the camera actually fun to use.

So for indoor what playing around with exposure are you suggesting? increase, decrease, no flash, ....please give us more details about the settings you are using.

I am more then happy with the camera on the GN. This are pictures in everything from dark lighting inside to low lighting outside (cloudy). Most are without flash, and I will add that the colors look better on my phone screen then the computer screen LOL.

Most the pics on this thread look really good to me. Better than my mytouch4G. Some people really nag on mobile phone cameras. Probably the same people that bish about why the sun is yellow and the Moon is white.....

Actually, I did get one pic that good, in really good outdoor day light. Indoors my pics were horrid. In bright artificial light. I had my iPhone 4 and would take pics of the same stuff and compare them on the phone and on my laptop. Only once could I get comparable pics but most of the time, especially in medium light and all compact fluorescent, the iP4 dominated.

All of my outdoor pics have turned out really good however most indoor pics even with decent lighting are fairly grainy. May need to play with the exposure settings a little bit.

None of the pictures above where in sunlight! The one with the cat on my daughters head was the only one with a flash, the last cat picture (up close) was in a very dark room, the only thing I did was +1 in exposure. The Opus X pictures (cigar with red X on the band) was at night time outside on my porch at work.

Overall I think the key is to either use two hands so you can use one to tap the screen to focus and hold phone steady. Or wait a second or two and let the cam get a good auto focus before taking the picture.
