Pixel 2 durability :( (bend test complaint)

Except the phone isn't plastic. It's metal dipped in plastic. He didn't expose anything. Nothing he does exhibits any type of real world usage. It's good to know if I don't try my hardest to bend my phone it won't bend. Nothing this guy does is useful.

He scratched the coating on the surface of the phone which does mimic real world use. The coating was easily scratched.

The problem is that the phone may as well be plastic since it feels plastic anyway. Plastic would have allowed wireless charging and been more durable and cheaper than the metal with plastic feeling paint coating on top.

It's essentially an LG G5 with the metal/coating.

That is totally not logical. At all. Doesn't make any sense on any level.

The plastic coating serves a purpose, it adds texture making the phone easier to grip.

If you don't like the plastic coating buy a different phone.

Google simply can't win. They make the Pixel, people complain that it's too slippery.

They add a grippy coating to the Pixel 2, people complain that it feels too much like plastic.

He scratched it with a utility knife. How does that 'mimic real world use'?? I'm sorry I don't go around trying to gouge out the back of my phone with a box cutter.

I mean, we all criticized LG when they made the LG G5 in the exact same way as HTC made the Pixel 2. Why does one get a pass when the other one didn't?

He said a lot that wasn't true.

He said that since the phone was coated in plastic it might as well be made of plastic. Which is absolute nonsense.

He attempted to make it seem that the coating would be easy to scratch while he was forcefully digging away at it with a razor knife and a scribe.

His video is just garbage.

I understand the purpose of the plastic coating. The question is what the purpose of the metal back is if it is going to look and feel like plastic while also taking away the option for wireless charging.

Absolutely not true.

He dug at that coating with a razor knife using significant force. That in no way mimics anything except purposeful vandalism.

He didn't put on that much force. He applied the same force as a device would if the phone would be pressed against keys in a pocket.

The build quality is inexcusable and nobody should be making excuses for it.

This logically makes no sense. It may as well be plastic because it feels plastic.... But it's not plastic.... It's there for a textured grip so the phone doesn't feel slippery. Jerryrig's videos really price nothing, no one sits there and intentionally trys to light there screen on fire with a lighter, or cuts the back out with a box cutter, or trys to bend the phone in half. None of this stupid crap happens in real life. We get it you don't like the pixel, move on then.

What doesn't make sense is putting a metal back on a phone and then making it feel and look like plastic. If they had used plastic, the phone could have been cheaper, had wireless charging, and felt and looked exactly the same.

No. Absolutely false.

I watched the video, why would you attempt to convince me of something that is easily proven false?

If you think the phone is vulnerable, don't buy it. If you don't like the phone, don't buy it.

At this point your behavior is bordering on trolling.

Then you would have complained about the cheap plastic materials.

Have you ordered a Pixel 2 or considered ordering a Pixel 2?

Lol no absolutely not. He was digging into the phone with a point of a utility knife, that in no way mimics keys in a pocket.... Are you being serious, or just purposefully obtuse now? No one is making excuses for anything. His tests are stupid, and don't mimic anything in real life.
