Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL

On the other side....who can complain about spending 600 dollars on a top tier phone? The battery in the XL is just about 1/3 larger than what is found in the Pixel 2 and the Screen Size is a whole inch larger and only adds .3 inches width and 1/2 inch of height.

decisions decisions decisions...
I couldn't go back from the 18:9 of the G6

Ordered the XL 2 in black last night. Coming from a Nexus 6P. Ships Oct 23 Delivery Oct 25–26

I have not ordered the Pixel 2 yet. I might ordered and wait for review and then cancel one of them.. @modifier as you stated I am concerned about battery life. I have the Pixel XL and love how it lasts all day.

2 XL. I own the Nexus 6P. and the overall dimensions are not far off, so it will just be like slapping a wider screen on the phone.

I was sold on the XL but now thinking about the smaller version......What are you thinking?
I would get the smaller one just because it's easier to handle and pocket. But I'm kinda biased against phablets as I' simply burnt out on toting them around. I don't need that sized device in my pocket all day long. The smaller pixel looks to be a good size. Bezels are only a minor annoyance. Of course battery life on the smaller pixel is a big ???

Once the note 2 came out i habent looked back.. shamu is the best design phone.. still rocking it.. i had the og xl it seemed so small and no ff speakers..with the new 2 xl and ffs im willing to take the jump.. i dont care for rounded displays hope the 3d edge wont change my mind

The small Pixel for me always. Not a big phone kind of gal. I got the white 64gb.

I prefer small phones too. I have hands like Bart Simpson haha. Even phones with large screens with no bezels and smaller frames are cumbersome. I need easy one handed use. Currently using an iPhone 8 4.7 and a Pixel 5.0 and they're perfect size.

I ordered the Kinda Blue 64GB Pixel 2. Though the white looks very nice too and it was tempting but I have the white/silver Pixel so wanted to change it up this time.

I flirted with the thought of getting the XL, but someone pointed out how its actually bigger than the V30, I stuck with the Pixel 2.

I might switch and get the Pixel 2 instead. After trade in my price owed would be 378 compared to 578. Is the XL worth 200 dollars or what? Bigger Battery, Bigger Screen, Smaller Bezels, but other than that what is the value.

One could argue size, the Pixel 2 is easier to handle in one hand.....Theoretically the smaller 1080p screen will require less power so is the 2700 battery going to last the same as the Pixel 2 XL. I think if that was the case I would make the switch more easily. Right now I am staying with the Black XL 2 64GB but I do have the Pixel 2 in the cart and am thinking about making the switch.

I'm the same. Both in the basket... So here we go again...

Bought a Pixel last year, swapped to an XL, back to a Pixel then back to an XL! I've kept my XL for nearly 12 months and it's been absolutely superb, and most of the time I like the size now.

I doubt the battery on the Pixel will be enough for me as I want to keep this phone for two years not one. On that basis I'm going with the 2XL as the battery will hopefully hold up better over time. I must say though that I prefer carrying smaller phones, but don't prefer charging them frequently.

Having said all that my Pixel XL running Oreo is in perfect condition, smooth as ever, and I got over 5 hours SOT yesterday on WiFi with my usual mix of YouTube, photo taking, social etc.

I wonder... *Looks at £799 phone in the Google Store basket*

The XL 2 is the actual real Pixel. The Pixel 2 gives the poors and those with tiny hands a buying option.

Just have to decide if it is worth it. I use my phone for a lot of media so the extra screen is fully worth it for me.

I love a large screen and could never go back to smaller. The battery is sweeter in the XL too. As someone coming off a phone with replaceable batteries I have to go larger.

I'm thinking that despite the screen size differential, the battery will still last longer in the XL but I don't know for certain.

I had the Nexus 6P with the battery issues and Google replaced it with a Pixel XL about a month ago. I love the size of the Pixel XL and worried the Pixel 2 XL was going to be more the size of the 6P.

I ordered two cases off Amazon for cheap so I would be sure to have them when the 2XL gets here October 24th or thereabouts. They came today and I compared them to my Pixel XL and was encouraged that it really wasn't that much bigger. To the point where I my Pixel XL fit into it and I thought they sent me the wrong case but it wasn't quite a good fit...the power and volume buttons weren't in the right places.

So I feel better about my choice now. I did want the bigger battery in the 2XL vs the 2.

I like the look of the XL better (and the battery), but it's 7mm wider which would make one-handed use very difficult for me. A shame they didn't use the same design for both, as the 2 XL design with a 5.5" 2:1 screen (same width as a 5" 16:9) would have been an instant "yes", but while the smaller one looks clunkier from the front the ergonomics will be much better for me. So while the Panda XL looks great, rationally I know I'd hate the size of it and find the smaller one much more usable.

Actually even the bezel will help with ergonomics, since when using the phone one-handed I'd just be reaching across the screen, whereas with phones where the buttons are lower (including the 2 XL) I have to reach across and down (more awkward) or hold the phone in a less secure way (more risky).
