Pixel 2 Trade-In Nightmare - Buyers Beware!!!

Mine was delivered to Atlanta on Friday. So from what i read in emails it could take five days but since delivered I have gotten no confirmation from Google. Hoping tomorrow they credit it or sometime soon.

Same here. But when I contacted Support they said their records showed it was received on 11/8. Then they said it will take 10 business days from then before I'd hear anything about the trade-in amount and what credit they'd give me.

oh wow. I am thinking about contacting them today.

I'm in Alabama and mine is headed to Texas. But, I took a slightly different route. I had a Nexus 6p that Google replaced, out of warranty, with a Pixel XL. I got the Pixel XL, sold it on Swappa for $500 in like 15 minutes (because, why not? It's more than Google's offer). So my Nexus 6p is headed back to Google right now and the Pixel XL is headed to it's new owner. What could go wrong?.......... :-\

My situation is probably different though. I'm under the impression that a 3rd party is evaluating trade in party values. Google is just the face of the situation.

Does this mean they received my trade-in? When I click on the "View Trade-in" there's no information about it.

Just as a precaution, when you reset your device, do it from within your settings menu (not through the bootloader). Apparently, if you have device protection set on your phone, resetting from your bootloader wouldn't thoroughly erase your account information from the phone, and it will require your password in order to boot up the device. Some people are suggesting this may cause problems with the trade-in process. Resetting from the OS settings menu will remove device protection.

I reset my phone through the settings menu as instructed by Google, didn't have any issues with my trade-in.

Tracking showed mine delivered on 10/26. I talked to a service rep last week and they said they received it on the 27th and that it usually takes 4-5 business days. So i waited the 5 business days and contacted them again. They said

"I'm sorry for the inconvenience. Due to unexpected volumes, Trade In assessments of Pixels and other devices are moving a little slower than we’d originally hoped. Our team is working quickly to get back up to speed and we’re aiming to assess your device within the next 2 weeks-- ideally even sooner. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We’ll be here to help if you want to check in along the way."

So then i contacted another rep that said it should only take 3 business days and I explained that it had been well past that and then she came back with pretty much the same answer.

So now I wait I guess for my $410 if they give that to me.

Yes they told me the name of the company doing the trade ins is Hyla HYLA Mobile

So if you didn't write down the tracking info from the envelope(I guess it was on there) where is, or can I get it at all? It has been a week since I sent it, and the status hasn't updated on the Google store page.

Go to the google store and start a chat with them and have your trade in ID number ready. They will be able to tell you if it was received.

^ this. or, I sent them a contact email and they responded that it was received

Mine was not showing a Phone Received until I chatted with them and asked why nothing since the tracking showed it was delivered on 11/3. They said in their system it showed it was received on 11/8. Now this morning I saw the same thing on mine where it says "Phone received".

Mine came in fine. Got all $400 for my XL. I had to email them and ask why I hadn't gotten it after they had it for 4 straight business days. After I emailed I got confirmation and my money back the next day.

They apparently have received mine, It had some minor scratches on the edge, but the screen was perfect, and the phone was reset and SIM removed. I guess we will see what they end up giving me for it.

Best thing to do is to first remove your account, and then do the factory reset from the menu.

I took pictures before I sent in my phone so I am hoping to avoid these issues. I'll find out soon...

Just spoke to Google Support. I was livid that this is taking so long and told them that I'm more worried about them screwing up my trade-in and not giving me the full $400 for my mint, factory reset phone. I asked if they were gonna offer a discount code or product to make up for the long delays. They said to go to the Google Store, scroll to the bottom, and do the give feedback saying that you want a discount code or something to make up for them not keeping their word on trade-in times. I did it. Not sure it will amount to anything but if more people do it maybe they'll offer something as an apology.
