Pixel 6 Fingerprint scanner not working with apps?

Hello,

I experienced a similar issue where the fingerprint scanner would not 'appear' when signing into banking app.

I turned biometrics off/on again in my banks app settings, then signed out/closed the app. The fingerprint scanner pops up when I open baking app to sign in now.

Hello
Just signed up here today as I was having this frustrating problem of fingerprint not working with google 6 pro......Though it's not my pro 6 that is having this problem, it's my missus as she just got her pro 6 after putting back the google 6 which had the same problem.
How mystified my missus was not being able to sign into her apps with fingerprint and I was getting very annoyed with it to.
Well, I'd say have it sussed as far I go..... try this to solve this app fingerprint fault (open settings). Go to (accessibility) open. Scroll to (select to speak) open. and make sure (select to speak shortcut) is set to (OFF).
This fixed the app fingerprint issue for me, and the missus is over the moon now.
I'm surprised Google have not found this clash with their own app product.
If anything, I would make sure you don't have any kind of floater hanging around on your screen, it could be some other kind of app that floats above anything you have open.
Hope this help anyone with this overdue clash between (fingerprint and accessibility select to speak)

Welcome to Android Central, and thanks for the tip! That's an interesting finding. I suppose that since Select To Speak changes how the phone monitors for touches, that could be causing problems with the biometrics API as well. Send feedback to Google about this -- maybe they can fix the conflict, or at the very least make it known in their support pages that Select to Speak can interfere with the fingerprint sensor.
