I guess I am in the minority. I just pay Google $19.99/year ($1.67/mo) and I should have plenty of space for now given my historic pattern of Google space usage. I'll jump to the $29.99 plan when it becomes necessary.

I do the same. I pay for extra Google storage that I share with the whole family, which also comes with a Google One membership and store credit at the Google Store.
