Pixel XL signal strength

I was wondering if anyone else who went from a 5X to a Pixel have similar strength issues or if my phone is defective.
It's interesting that your screen capture shows your cell signal being weakest when the WiFi signal is also missing. Is that just a fluke, or something that also would have shown up on your 5X? (Because you were exploring a cave then or something?)

So far my signal has been the same as my Note 7 at home / work / the pool hall I play league at. I will continue monitoring it.

5X is always is the green no matter WiFi is on or not. That entire time was pretty much at my house and I can see an AT&T tower from my front porch. When WiFi was off I was out shopping and went to Denny's. I never have issue with the 5X in those locations. The Antennas in the Pixel phone just seem to be inferior.

I'm quite happy with reception. 3G is definitely better than the iPhone 7 Plus

I like my Pixel XL, but signal strength is killing me. Does anyone know how the signal strength is on a moto z force?

I've going back and forth between the force and 5" pixel. In my area they seem close. The numbers usually show the force as picking up a bit better signal, but talking and usage hasn't showed much difference. This is very important to me so more testing will be done.

I have been getting good signal strength on my Pixel.
It pretty much has been the same as my other phones are.
On AT&T

Any way you could download an app on each that shows the signal strength in numbers. To see how they compare. Did so with my note 7. I'm actually getting a little better than the note 7 number wise but the note 7 will show full bars whereas the pixel shows only 4.

I migrated from the Moto XPE (which has exceptional radios and signal strength). My wife still has hers. I compared them side-by-side and they were identical. I'll test them more over the week and this weekend as we'll be doing a little road tripping. But so far, no issues here whatsoever.

It seems like some Pixel's have horrible signal strength and some are okay. This is a disappointment for as I was really wanted this phone. I don't want to wait a year for another phone.

I would say it differs. Some are getting better signal strength. Like the post above yours ...

Mine is about the same as my Note 7, maybe a bit better. I haven't traveled with it enough to REALLY know, but so far it's about the same.

While researching my pixel dropping calls I came across this forum and seen not much info on the topic so thought I'd share me experience I purchased 3 pixels not xl's and live in a rural area in Nebraska and all three drop calls constantly never had this problem in the past last phone was s6 edge notes before that and I was always impressed with my 4g service rock solid was so excited about the phone super fast battery is great love the screen even though it's only 1080 I think that's perfect for a 5 inch phone but all 3 drop 2 out of 3 calls and takes a minute to get service back it's really frustrating I will be returning all 3 on monday hope this helps

Call quality and connection are paramount to me...and this thread is definitely scaring me with my Pixel on order.

I had 2 different ones and the first was worse. In town it was equal to the note in strength according to the app I was using on both to monitor

Just curious.... You people that are having problems, are you on Verizon or another network? Wondering if maybe it doesn't have exact bands you need for your carrier.

Knock on wood but so far my reception is spot on of my Note 7 all using Verizon.

I have Verizon and my LTE with them has always been iffy though better than any other company around here. The Note7 and the Pixel xl are about the same. Calls are ok, but getting online is slow. The Note did my wifi a little better but the Pixel has improved on that somewhat since the update. Not quite as good but ok.
