Plan to get the Pixel 3 / 3 XL?

Interesting, that sounds about right. I spent $650 for this phone so 3 plus years sounds about right.
Seriously though they're running out of ideas regarding new Innovations. I don't even think I'm interested in a folding phone and that sounds like a big deal coming out in a year or so. They can make slight tweaks to the camera but the pixel 2 camera is damn good as it is already. I am quite happy to be able to save the money for something else.

You know I read some poster, in one of these tech forums, say that they had a hard rule on cost. They expected 1 year of performance for every $200 they spent on a phone. Now I don't know if they ever paid full retail or anything like that, BUT I found it a fairly good guideline.

That sounds a bit dated

I would agree

While I know of people that do it, most I know at least do every two. Partly because they don't take very good care of it and others because they bought a two year old iPhone or older mid range Android phone already out of date and it barely works.

I do agree the Pixel 2 does still have a lot to offer for another year and should be fine. For me I personally think the improvements to the SD845 chipset as far as the GPU and ISP as well as gaining band 71 support since I'm on T-Mobile will warrant upgrading to the Pixel 3 for me. I'll take the bigger screen, bigger battery and wireless charging as icing on the cake. Again, that's why I think it's worth it for me, others I can totally understand why it's not worth the cost to upgrade.

I agree - manufacturers are starting to grasp at straws to think up new features for phones. I don't see myself getting a new phone for at least another year and a half - as long as my phone doesn't break before then!

I have a year and 2 months left of my contract. I will be either upgrading my phone or moving to sim only at that point.

Nope although I've enjoyed the 2xl quite a bit, the Galaxy s10 will be my next phone.

Love my 2xl but if google gives enough trade in value so that I can replace with 3xl and have the same payment, I'll do it. I still want to see what the final version comes with, but I'd do it if it doesn't cost me any more.

our 24 months on the Pixel is up in 4 weeks.
the main issue with it - only 32GB and no memory card.
I have the OnePlus3T with 128GB - which is really really good.
So, I suppose, will the Pixel 3 start at 64GB with a 128GB option?
If so, we will consider it.
(I'm glad it doesn;t have a 'notch' )

I'm pretty sure I'll be buying the P3XL. No real issues at all with my P2XL but if Google is gonna do the same as last year with 4-450 trade in promos, I'm in. Might not be a day one purchase but I'll be getting it none the less

If they do that might trade in but I need more ram then 3 or 4 gigs
