got it!

Bestbuy called me back and ended up selling it to me w/o activation. So whenever the date rolls around where it "launches" I can activate it myself.

OMG you are sooo lucky, do you like it? How is the screen??
Please tell us more

Thursday perhaps?

I just called my local VZW corporate store and asked if they were selling the Charge. He said no and could not give me a date when it would become available. They do have them in stock and there is a working demo at the store. I may go there just to check it out.

the reason why he couldnt give u a date is bc we as well dont know. I have a Charge in my bag ready to be activated.

I hate the fact that once VZW got LTE, they decided to get rid of anything else that made them a likeable phone company, and now seem to be actively trying to drive customers away, almost as if they want you to be truly committed in order to get LTE. Ending one-year contracts, NE2, early upgrades, announcing the end of unlimited data, and now any new phone is just delay-city?? This is getting ridiculous, if it wasn't for LTE I think I'd already be with Sprint.

I noticed a similiar thing at my local VZW store. I had a TB for awhile and it had numerous problems. They absolutley refused to give me another TB. I have been a VZW customer for a long time. The only reason I stick with the store is a get a good corporate discount on phones and services. If wasn't for that I would not deal with them. The personnel at the store seem like they don't care if you buy a phone or not.

I think that's by store though. We have about four stores in my town and the adjacent city. The Verizons we've frequented have pretty decent personnel. The people there have almost always asked if they could help, even when someone was already helping us. Only problems we ever had were with insurance claims on broken devices. As far as Verizon itself goes, we've had decent service. Most of the points mentioned that were being taken away don't affect the average Verizon customer, I don't believe. In fact, it seems like more people I know are concerned with Fios, the home hone system, and LTE. I've heard very few complaints, and most people I know are with them, are switching to them, or want to switch. Looks like they won't feel the affects of poor leadership or decision-making.
