Well, I know him beyond the video, and he may have been lucky enough to get it. He is active on the AllDroid forums, and sometimes you just make the right connections and you will get the hookup from someone. Not saying its what happened, but possible.

Thats what i'm thinking. I believe the official 2.1 for the Droid won't be leaked.

So Pete sent him the January version. I knew it. There is no way a 16 year old could have gotten his hands on it and not leaked it (unless, he was told not to, by someone he looks up to).

Well, here we are -- another Monday morning with no update. I snatched my Droid off the dock first thing this morning, hoping I'd find the precious update at last.

Alas! Hopes dashed once more! 'Tis the last Monday in February, and the Well is Still Dry...

We won't see 2.1 until March.

It is still my opinion we will not see it until Verizon releases the N1. Verizon & Google want the shiny new N1 to have an advantage/selling point. I still hope I am wrong.

We established the "this week" was a big stupid mistake on their part.

If Google cared who had the 2.1 update they wouldn't have released the source code so everyone and their brother could have it. All Google cares about is hardware to deliver their payload - advertising.
