Post pictures taken with your second generation Moto X here

I'm actually a bit surprised at some of the results I've been getting in low light without flash:

The key I find is to shoot in bursts. The shutter speed is fairly slow but out of 10 shots in a burst, 1 or 2 are likely to to have the camera and the subject nice and still. (Kind of a poor man's optical stabilization.) Focus is surprisingly reliable.

I think the grain, colors and overall tonality leave a bit to be desired, but overall not too bad for a phone cam. I might even use some of these for promo!

That's the thing Motorola needs to get is software reliability. This camera can be above average but needs more reliable software for focus, exposure, etc.

Not bad. Hopefully software enhancements will refine results. As I said before, Moto needs better software. Will see what/if Lollipop brings.

Very impressed. I'm far from an expert, however this quality is more than adequate for casual photos.

No filter/adjustments. Just twisted and snapped real quick.IMG_20141109_122435028_HDR.jpg

A Couple more. Yes, I love my cats.

Indoors, but daylight outside.
BTW, all photo I have publish were 100% UNtouched. No edits, enhancing etc.

Lollipop is supposed to have RAW support, so those inclined can process the image how they want. Should improve some of the quality. Haven't often been disappointed with the 13 model. Works for casual shooting.

2 angles from a cool hanging leaf, and a sweet little bird's nest. Yes, we got snow today. I don't want to talk about it...

I'm regrettably finding the camera on the Moto X quite abysmal. There is so much to love about this phone, but the camera is just dreadful. Nearly everything I've shot is noisy and blurry. The camera is also really unreliable -- many many misses before the occasional hit. And the hits aren't even that good.

This is unacceptable for a 2014 phone. The camera should not be this poor.

i absolutely agree with you.
the phone can be the fastest phone to take a picture on the planet, but if the photo is poor, what is that worth?

some picture do come out nice - 'Some' is the word, not most

this goes out to everyone:
I recommend anyone who would like a potential fix to the camera to head to the play store as I did, look up Moto Camera (or click here: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...details?id=com.motorola.camera&token=X98YV8YV), rate it low stars and write a review - they need to know the camera is lacking

Be sure to add Moto X 2014 or 2nd Gen to the review

they need to hear from us - the users, the ones who may move on to X+3 and 4 etc

Agreed. The camera processing needs an update as there is simply too much image blur in almost every condition. Nearly every shot is what I would consider unacceptable (and I am a huge fan of the phone). Even many of the pics in exceptional lighting conditions, when viewed at 100%, exhibit a good deal of blur. It's a shame, too, because this is the only true drawback of the phone.

and I am a huge fan of the phone

And this is exactly why I gave it a sour review in play store- I love the phone too, and it's all so that it can really shape up to become what it's supposed to be, a high end phone with a 2014 quality camera (both software and hardware wise).

I see blur too. Blur and graininess.

Yes to the previous two posters. The blurriness and graininess is staggering.

I don't know how any one finds this camera anywhere near "on par" or acceptable as most reviews and feedback has suggested.

I bought the phone under the impression it was about the same quality as the nexus 5 camera and owning both devices I can say that they are not even close, sadly.

Just to compare, this is a photo from my 13 X. Yes it's a case of using a best example rather than an average shot, but the Moto cameras are capable.

Google camera app. HDR. Edit in photos.
