I don't know what was up with my phone, but the speeds have shot up a lot..

ran 3 in a row the scores were..
down:4617, 5657, 6022.
Up. 1158, 1266, 1272.
ping: 89, 85, 79

Really happy with how fast it's going now.
idk if it matters but just rooted the phone yesterday and loaded a custom rom onto the phone.. idk if that would mess with the data speeds though.

I don't know about any updates..Well I can't get my phone to update if there is a update out there.

Locale: Kansas City, MO

A few weeks before this new update was released I had rooted my phone & installed CM7. It was my understanding CM7 would open up the cap on the HSUPA, however this never happened. I personally would never hit anything over 300k for the U/L so I figured KC's network had yet to be updated.

After the update was released I'd thought about putting my phone back on the stock AT&T ROM and installing the OTA update. Over the weekend however there were quite a few posts on XDA.com about the update. Someone posted the RUU update so instead of having to unroot my phone, etc., I backed up my CM7 setup, flashed the AT&T update, and then restored my CM7 back-up.

Today I'm officially getting much improved U/L speeds!

*average speeds*

ping - 90-106ms (before I was hitting a ping as high as 300ms)
D/L - 1,800kbps
U/L - 1,500kbps

It's not 4G but at least now I feel AT&T has at least given the customer's what we paid for. Of course this is after I rooted my phone and got my back on ... :P

The best I've gotten using AT&T (NOT WiFi) is:

6.36 mbps down

1.26 up

119 ms ping

This was at 5 or so in the morning though. Generally during the day I get 1-2 down and 1 up.

You have to go to settings, update, and use the HTC wifi update. Then once it is downloaded and the phone resets, a battery pull is probably needed to make it work. Did the trick for me.

Whooaa! I just got my fastest speeds ever! Albeit during a no-traffic time period, but impressive nonetheless!

Ping 129ms
7.01mbps down
1.26mbps up

The speed tests being done here are not on WiFi. Most of yours have been. But the one I did see on mobile data didn't seem too great.
