Re: How Are You Handling the Recall

I am keeping my note 7 and will exchange when the new ones are in. I am using an old iPhone 5s (cracked screen and all) while i wait. Really like the note 7 and nothing less will do.

Re: How Are You Handling the Recall

Returned phone. Waiting for something else :).

Re: How Are You Handling the Recall

Everyone should return. Just get the s7 edge while you wait for the new one.

If you don't by the 30th you are stuck waiting for who knows how long.

There is no date when it is coming back until govt approval.

Re: How Are You Handling the Recall

I am currently in my psychiatrist's lobby to get some meds and help dealing with all this. Just got called in.

Re: How Are You Handling the Recall

I am still using my pre-ordered phone the same as before. I have not experienced any issues at all with the phone getting hot. It has also been charged on different chargers (portables, car chargers, etc.) with no issues. I'm still loving every minute with this phone & will not be turning it in.

R.I.P

Re: How Are You Handling the Recall

I keep calling Verizon everyday about the new Note7, still waiting, im holding on tho my phone. Until the new ones show up.

The jeep burning up, the kid burned, the garage up in flames are nothing but scams.

Ditto here !
The Verizon corporate stores around here are clueless about anything.

Re: Note 7 burns 6 year old boy in New York

Is it possible to use a reference picture?

From afar, the N7 looks similar to a lot of other Samsungs, but go closer and there are some differences.

There are really only 2 Samsung phones that look similar to the Note 7. First is the S6 edge. It has a deeper curve. But it is similar in appearance. Then there is the S7 Edge. This is the one that would be most similar at first glance. However, all any TSA agent, or Flight Attendant has to do is look at the bottom of the phone. Is there an S-pen? If not, it's ok.

I would add in the Note Edge, but it only has the curve on one side. Banning ALL Samsung phones seems excessive to me.

Re: How Are You Handling the Recall

We talking 2016 or 2017? This whole mess is getting a little old.

This is the convo from 1 rep....another rep I talked to yesterday assured the same thing

Joey Ofori: Can u tell me what causes the battery to explode?
Joey Ofori: Is it charging?
Mounika B: No, it is free.
Mounika B: There was a hardware issue with the battery which is causing the issue. The issue is identified and is corrected in the new Note 7 phones.
Joey Ofori: Is that with all the Note 7's that were released?
Joey Ofori: Or only certain ones?
Mounika B: The issue is with the few devices. As customers safety is our priority, we recommend you to take the advantage of the Note 7 exchange program.

Re: How Are You Handling the Recall

My note is off and sitting out of site, I am glad that I didn't trade in my S5, I went in day one and had them reactivate that phone. Now I am just waiting on Sprint to get the new N7s in, then I will trade in a go back to being happy with my Note.

I feel you. My S4, Evo Shift, Evo and especially my Note Edge all get warm during charging. The Note Edge ESPECIALLY. This phone never gets warm. Ever. My luck, I would get a replacement Note with hardware or battery issues. Since the phone is doing exactly what I expect it to be doing, I will not be returning mine either.

Young boy is injured while using note 7

I am so sorry to hear this young boy was injured!
There is a recall on the note 7 (we all know this).. What I find puzzling is WHAT IS THIS YOUNG BOY DOING WITH THIS PHONE????
What are the parents thinking?
How irresponsible can you be!

Turned mine in this morning for a refund. Sad to see it go honestly. I figure i will give it time see what happens. Got a free gear fit out of it. but for now back to the old s5. Maybe if i hold out i can snag another freebie down the road

Re: Note 7 burns 6 year old boy in New York

Then have that happen in an airplane at 20,000 feet, or in your car while you're driving at speed in heavy traffic.

Last I heard, the Airlines are considering banning all Samsung phones on their flights, as they are unable to easily differentiate the N7.

Where did you hear that? By that standard they would ban all electronic devices.

Re: Note 7 burns 6 year old boy in New York

I wonder if the phone was being charged at the time. Horrible that it exploded in his hands, but would like to know if it spontaneously exploded or if charging caused the explosion.
