Pre-order question (T-Mobile)

I've never pre-ordered a phone before. PO for T-Mobile starts the 5th, with online and in-store sales starting the 13th.

My question is, since it doesn't look like there are any perks being included with pre-ordering, what is the advantage? Will people who pre-order get their phones sooner, or will they still ship when sales go live and I'd be better served buying in-store?

Anybody else doing PO, and why?

I'll be pre-ordering one for both my wife and myself. The benefits are that I don't have to go to a store and we more times than not get it sooner than launch. Other than that there isn't much of a benefit.

They may announce the perks as a little later

Just got off the phone with T-Mobile customer support (so take it as you will) and wouldn't say for sure you would receive it earlier for pre-order, but that was the case with a lot of Note 8 customers who did.

Also claimed there will be some type of free promotion for pre-order, but they haven't received the details just yet, so we'll see...

Also signed my line up for Jump on Demand, since I'd rather do the $0 down/$33 month on JOD than the regular $80 down/$30 month.
