I can understand the reps not saying anything if they were told not to. It just makes no sense to me why VZW would make them do this. I don't understand what they gain by not providing any info.

So I called a Verizon corporate store in my area and asked if the Galaxy was going to come out on Thursday or Friday. He said hold on a sec let me check. After about 30 seconds he came back to the phone and was like it'll be on Thursday. He then asked me if I wanted to buy one. I was like yeah, so he took my name and number and checked to make sure my annual upgrade was on my account. He gave me his name and number and told me to come in on Thursday. He said call him so he can make sure to hold one for me cause he wasn't sure how many they were going to get in. Hopefully I'll be walking out of the store on Thursday with a Nexus in my hand. I'll be pissed if I go in and he tells me he can't sell it to me until Friday.

I just got off the phone with the major Corporate store here and they confirmed it would be available on the 9th.

No pre-orders. They have the accessories already in stock.

just called the local store in Happy Valley in Phx, AZ. he said he will have them for sale on 12/9. in fact, he read to me that they will be launching on all channels on the 9th. It will be a first come first served basis.

Local store here, corporate, the manager told me the 9th as well. They don't currently have them in stock but should receive their shipment on either Ed afternoon or Thursday morning. She wasn't aware of how many they would be getting, but told me to call back Thursday.

Called a Verizon store in Omaha, NE and the lady said after looking at her computer "expected launch date is the 9th, but it's not guaranteed" .. so really hoping it's the 9th and they don't change the date! She also said they were getting a lot of accessories in, but not for sale. She said to call back the 8th and they'd know for sure.

Whoo!! I stay in Fort Lauderdale!!!! Cant wait to pick up my GN this friday!

ALso I called and they told me the same thing. ALthough he did say "Rumor has it, it will be available on the 9th, but we dont know what our shipment levels will be like." But he said to call back tomorrow to see how many they will have available because thats when they get their shipments usually.

I just walked by a kiosk in a mall and the guy asked me if I wanted to upgrade. I said sure on Friday when the nexus is released, but he responded saying it was coming out Thursday...
I sure wish something official would be said

I agree. I'm getting excited again and hope it's all true. Thursday would be so ideal for me but if it's Friday so be it. I just hate that I'll have to go after work and it will probably be crowded. Not because of the nexus but, just being Friday and late.

I just got a phone call from my Verizon store saying the same thing (Friday 12/9). No pre-orders or lists, just said to show up a little early on Friday to pick it up. Can't wait!

I have no doubt Verizon will have this phone out by the 9th.. but did I miss a press release? its not official till they announce it.. which im guessing is whats going to happen tomorrow.
