Hmmnnn... Here's what I'm going to do. Friday morning... about 9am, I'm going to leave my office and drive about five miles to my local Verizon store. I'm going in and I will politely ask for a G-Nex. Then I'm going to take my G-Nex and leave... if not, I'll politely explain that I'm there until they sell me one and I'm not leaving without it. If they still can't sell me one, I'll tell them that I'm going to bring in all of my kids and our pets and we are going to occupy Verizon until we have a G-Nex!

Alright. So if the phrase "later this year" hadn't been included in their bush league Friday afternoon blurb of an announcement, they could hold the phone hostage indefinitely. As it stands, we shouldn't think they're dragging @$$ until the ball drops in Time Square.

I just went into Verizon and polite little girl sales rep asked me if she could help me. I punched her square in the face!

For what it's worth this late in the day, I had my dad ask the corporate store my family went to tonight about the Nexus, and he says they only know that it was cancelled for Friday. So toss that in the mix for confirming it's not coming out Friday...

Well I haven't got a call back from the person and as far as I know Friday still is a go so but I'll be raising hell then iif not.

These get sales commission that rep told you what you wanted to hear and believe.

No money was exchanged. There also hasn't been an official announcement made.

The only thing you should be upset about is believing a sales rep.

Someone had brought up that Verizon didn't like all the leaks and maybe that's the why it's been delayed. They want to announce it themselves with no one knowing. I'm beginning to wonder about that. LOL! I guess I'm adding my own speculation.

This is all so crazy. I don't think I've ever spent so much time on a forum than I've spent hear over the past month.

That will NEVER happen. Whenever they decide to launch it, someone will know before it does. It only takes one or two "employees" that are not as tight-lipped and the word is out.

It's not like because 1,000 around the country on message boards could actually "announce" anything.
With all the rumors, who would believe them anyways?

I doubt that would be a reason to delay a phone launch. I'm sure Verizon knows that they'd be getting much more attention just releasing the sucker and announcing it quickly beforehand than pushing the release off and announcing it in their own sweet time. My (hypothetical) money is on them not wanting to launch the phone with the recent LTE outages around the country. Once they get that ironed out I'm sure it'll be released - probably a silent launch (e.g. available in stores, but no fanfare).

And I too think the last two months here in the AC forums is the most time I've spent on a forum in the past three years or so (in the past I was a forum fanatic lol)

Who said I was upset? Well if no announcement was made but the mgr decide to call people up and make a false 9th date to get people in the store? Oh OK. Obviously you missed that phone where getting shipped and stocked.
Some employees was tight lips, hesistant to say something and some where loose and would tell you to go in at the 9th but hey their just rep and all across the nation just happened to make up the 9th date for some odd reason.hey they must all read droid-life or follow p3 in that case.

Who cares anymore? Could be a tbolt launch? Droid 3 launch even?

I called my local corporate store in lubbock texas and the guy knew all about the phone and said they had it ready to go and then got verizon pushed it back with no reason or new date and they did not understand why. I whole heartedly believe this was ready for Friday and that was completely official but something crazy happened. You don't ship phones and accessories without an official internal date at least.

I just stopped by my local Radio Shack. The guy there said he got a memo this morning that he "might" get a shipment in Friday...and they would start selling those "this weekend." He wasn't sure if we was one of the stores getting them or not.

I think Phil already mentioned lte wasn't the issue and lte is not really a nationwide issue as far as I'm reading around.
