Pricing

Correct:
I've installed so many different ROM's on my Hero (currently running Sprint Modified 2.1 release courtesy of Damageless) each time I open up market after a full flash, all my apps are there for re-download. One app this past time showed up but wasn't compatible yet. It was a free HTC battery widget, so I downloaded another free one from the market. All 3 of my paid apps worked. If the app says 1.5 only, or not compatible with 2.xx, I wouldn't download it (I can't now anyways... this ROM is sweet!).

Not to thread crap, but how much better is that DamageLess rom over Fresh 2.0c? Only thing I can really tell is VVM is there in DL and missing in Fresh. And Fresh has all the apps in the Market while DL has missing apps.

Yes, once you make a purchase from the market as long as you use the same Google account information all you do is go to the market, hit downloads and everything you've purchased on downloaded will be there to add to your EVO, unless you have an app that isn't 2.1 compatible.

Thanks for getting back to me. Thats pretty nice to know. Anyone wanna trade their Hero for a Pre? :)

there doing a pre sale at best buy for sure i talked to best buy mobile and they said it starts in may that is all they know.

Everything works in mine, including apps in market. You have to flash a previous market working rom first, then this one.

Considering the price of the HTC Pro is $299, currently, I see no way that it will be cheaper than that. I am guessing $349 at launch after rebates, which I believe is well worth it - I will be switching from my Pre at launch.

Looks like Sprint might not have learned much with the Pre and may end up pricing the EVO at $399 at launch then bringing it down to $349 and finally $299 depending on demand within the first 9-12 months.

Since Sprint nearly always does an MIR it is possible you would be paying $500 + tax with a $100 MIR.

Personally, I think they only way they will make a dent in their post-paid numbers is to move this phone at $199 with no MIR at launch. If they have the b**** and do $179 it would be a huge win for Sprint.

As much as we all would love that, its not a realistic goal. It would be hard to push any other phone, and some people just won't budge on not having a physical keyboard. With this phones stats, I think $300 subsidized in the first month is more than fair. I'm looking at unsubsidized price myself since I'm not up for an upgrade. I got a pre and hated it. I switched to the Hero, but it was after 5 months, so I don't think I would be eligible for an upgrade until November/December time. I'm hoping for ~$500, but it could be close to $600. If you are worried about MIR, just get it at bestbuy or something. You can pre-order it and get the phone without having to send in a mail in rebate.

You think? Hmm, running an 8gig card now and it's full.

The only thing that should really be on the phones memory is ur apps other than that everything else should be on your sd card.. I have a nice 32gb sd waiting for my Evo when it finaly comes out

I'm lookin to buy an EVO the first moment i can and want to get it off on the right SD card... whats a good card and place to buy, and what do i need to look for to make sure its an appropriate card? appreciate the help.

i think it will be ethier 399$ with MIR 100$ or 299$ with MIR 100$ lol ethier or the phone out the door upgrade or new line it will be 400-500$ bucks. lets hope for 199$ with MIR 100$ 300 out the door CHEAA ill take that.

well looking at the prices of the HD2 and also the increadible it would only make sense for sprint to price this at $199 after mail in rebate to stay competitive. I feel pretty confident about that price but to me it really doens't matter I'm getting it even if its $400

Off subsidy you might be looking at $700 + tax.

Fingers crossed for 599.00

My plan :)
1 year upgrade 150.00
Selling 9630 175.00.
Wallet damage = 300.00 & some change which isn't bad.

EDIT:
opps I forgot about device discounts so I may end up paying less out of wallet

Was in T-Mobile yesterday and HD2 was $149.99 with contract. I would think the Evo would be about $199.99 with contract. If Sprint is smart they would start at this price point to lure new cutomers from other carriers to Sprint. More contracts because of cheaper price is more money than higher price and fewer new customers.

At best buy, yes. Thats what the pre costs out the door, but at sprint, its 549. I'd be getting it in a Sprint store. If they do have it at over 700 at a sprint store, its cheaper for me to cancel my contract, pay the ETF and start over again, something I wanted to do anyway since I'm on a family plan and I graduate in two weeks anyway (I'm on a plan with my parents).

You don't HAVE to cancel and pay an EFT to get off your parents plan. You can do a "Transfer of Liability" into your own name, assuming they approve you for an account based on your credit. (I know, because I did exactly this when I turned 18 and went off to college)

You will be paying the lowest price after all discounts. With a new 2 yr contract on premiere 1 year upgrade. The $150 just represents the minimum you would get if there were no subsidized pricing. You will get new customer pricing. I called sprint 3 times to verify this.
