:'( Started Nexus 7 this morning, was working well then said the temperature was too hot (sorted by pressing Cool Down) & followed with stubborn app problems (pressed Fix Now), the device suggested enabling Talk Back. I pressed OK, then the problems started when the touchscreen disabled. When I tried to get into the bootloader, the screen showed the green android robot on his back with a door open on his chest, a red triangle above this & the message No Option below this. I can't shut down the Nexus, which is now charging while powered on. Please help.

Welcome to Android Central! I've never seen a system notification that offered a "Fix Now" button. It sounds like there might be some 3rd party app that's giving you these notifications -- do you have some kind of 3rd party system maintenance/cleaner app installed? A lot of those are of questionable value, and quite a few also include relatively shady "features."

Try pressing and holding Power for about 20-30 seconds to force a shutdown. Then see if the problems persist in Safe Mode: https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/2852139?hl=en

Still having problems, still unable to unlock the touchscreen because it's been locked by Talk Back which is still activated, & because I can't access the settings, there's nothing I can do. Nexus still won't power off correctly or shut down in Safe mode.
