Quickpic Empty Folders on my Desktop

I am using Quickpic to rename and sort my photos. When I plug my Nexus 7 into my desktop to transfer the photos, some of the folders appear empty on my desktop. Some folders show some photos and not others.

I guess my question is, what is happening to some of my photos that makes them unrecognizable on my desktop?

Rebooting my Android fixed the problem. I was really worried. I spent 4 hours editing photos last night and thought they might be lost.
