RCS Messaging

I can chat with Samsung users with my pix 3a.
Yea some Samsung phones had that ability but it was dependent on the carrier some point soon it'll be any Samsung device
@mustang7757 I had a feeling they would too eventually still don't know why Samsung just didn't choose to make Google messages default instead of build a separate messaging app but I guess the fact it's Samsung shouldn't surprise.

Tell you truth I like how Samsung message app UI is layed out , im glad they not and just enabling rcs Google's way , just hope it trickles to other models and older .

I'm happy about this. I do miss some things about Samsung Messages UI. I've been using Google Messages for months now because the RCS is so great. Advanced Messaging with AT&T is so I consistent. Sometimes pics go through quickly but most of the time it takes forever. RCS with Google is so much better. Pics come through in high quality so fast.

I won't hold my breath waiting for AT&T to activate chat features in the messaging app though.

Been using rcs with Samsung app on sprint bout 5 years in do happy we almost set the finish line... I've notice about 30 ppl in my text messages have the blue dot next to our chat, which means they have rcs

I'll go back to Samsung Messages if/when it's enabled on my Note 10+.

Nice !!! More RCS support is great. Personally never fan of Samsung messages app or any Samsung app in particular, I love Google message app much better and not going to change for me. But more messaging apps supporting RCS is better for everyone.

Very cool. But even if OnePlus enabled it in the stock app on my 6T, I'd still use the Google Messages app because I love having the web interface on my Surface Pro. So much communication done via text for me these days, nice to have a full kb to type out long messages.

I am on FirstNet and have not been able to get RCS with Google messages working on my S20. I've tried everything. I think it is a carrier thing with the S20 because with my S10 it worked fine. Hopefully Samsung messages will work for me then when it's ready.

RCS doesn't work on firstnet just yet, this is especially true if you use a black sim. Just like you don't get 5G on firstnet black sim either. But RCS should work once they get the backend interoperative things done.

I figured as much. Yes no 5g in FirstNet yet either. Thank you for confirming.

You're right - the more support for RCS, the better. I love it!

so with this being done within the default Samsung messaging app, will this make it more like the way iphone does it with imessage. because i still didnt want to go and use google message, i prefer using default apps for certain things.
this would jus be giving people more options which is a plus, and not having to wait for carriers to push it is even better now.
