Reception Issues evo 4g lte

Any updates on this issue?

I'm an increasingly regretful pre-orderer of the EVO LTE and after about a week of great signal and blazingly beautiful speeds on WiFi, I've been reduced to reactivating my old EVO 4G. I was getting full signal ROAMING on my LTE, where in the exact same location I got 4 bars of 3G signal on my old EVO. WiFi likes to go in and out like there's a cat chewing on the cable. Awesome...

Anyway, after complaining to Sprint, going through every variation of resetting known to man, complaining even more to Sprint, complaining to HTC, trying every forum search I could think of, and then finally reactivating the trusty old EVO, Sprint finally caved and are sending me this mystical Airave thing. I'm dubious, but because I preordered, and because I was given the run around for more than a week, I'm past my 14 day return period. I'm cautiously optimistic that this Air thing will work, but again, I'm just about out of options.

Sprint also told me that they're "working on a nearby tower" and to wait a week or two for this to pass. Of course, that was probably just a ploy to get me past the 14-day return period. I'm supremely disappointed and frustrated with Sprint and, by inference, HTC. I think it's a combination of problems between the 2 companies, not just one or the other. Sprint has crap service; HTC has built a phone that doesn't work. Sure it looks pretty, but if I can't make a call, I've essentially just paid $200 and signed a 2-year contract for a tiny tablet.

Fix this, please.

Cheers,
Dan

EDIT: This is all in downtown Dallas, no less. Just praying that LTE shows up soon...

It's nice to vent sometimes,I felt the pressure disappear right towards the end of the last post I needed to vent. It's very frustrating and brings on sense of helplessnes. I was thinking last evening over the last two years and someone reminded me yesterday about the over night phone I was allotted through TEP. Sprint so graciously sent me a new replacement phonetwice when I had issues with my last phone and within 24 hours they arrived . I usually tend to get upset over my phone issue's, but when I sit back and realize the other thing in my life seem way more important than a few days of phone irritations caused by signal loss or phone compatibility with apps. Just understanding why we need to vent.;)

Well, just as a quick update, it seems that Sprint actually was correct; They've been working on a tower close to me and the other towers were getting hammered. Once they fixed up that one, I'm back to normal signal strengths and no dropped calls. Hallelujah! So now I've got an Airave coming in the mail that I don't particularly need anymore...

Anyway, just letting you know that these problems don't appear to be phone-related after all. Mine is back in pristine condition and hasn't had a hiccup since about last Tuesday. Thumbs up!

I hope the towers are getting worked on in St. Louis. My new evo lte is constantly roaming, old evo never did before. One day it roamed for a full day middle of the city, killing the battery in the process. But even after that, short weekend trip to middle of Illinios, and my evo lte was the worst phone of 10 for signal strength. I'd say 8 of the 10 other phones were sprint users also, iphones and older evo 4g's. I don't want to admit it, but I think the reception just sucks on our new evo lte's.

Of course Sprint says there are no issues, but I have a case open with HTC on this which they say this is the first to their knowledge... What software version is everyone on? I'm running 1.13.651.1 710RD. Trying to get more people to make HTC aware of the issue to see if they can fix it, assuming its not a design flaw.

Coming from my nexus s 4g the reception in this phone is a godsend.

Couple of weeks ago near my apt they took the tower offline for NV updates. This lasted about 2-3 days. I get full bars at my apt and theres an antenna farm (3 towers with all the carriers on them) anyway, its on the NE side of Down Town Dallas.
Near Live Oak and Peak.
The good news is since the tower was brought back online i am getting 1meg plus DL speeds..

Now NE dallas is another story.. just ran a speed test at my office and yup 45k down..
