Registration for "immersive Gear VR experience for $99" - How did it Go

I'm in the same boat. I was just freaking out about it until I read this thread. Now I feel a little better about it.

I don't think I've been charged yet. I thought I'd been charged already, but looking through my account, I'm not able to locate the Samsung charge. Supposedly I paid the $106 and change for the $99 bundle.

Has anyone else not been charged yet? Or been charged but it was never taken out of your account? And if so, are you in the same boat (being processed, not yet shipped)?

Update Saturday. I just got FedEx tracking for Tuesday delivery on the paid one. We'll see about the free one that also says "Gift sent" for a week.

Ok this is NUTS...In Samsung promotions I am showing as "Gift sent" for over a week. That is for the free set. Then last Friday I followed the link in an email and BOUGHT the $99 one. That total was something like $108 and change. That charge shows as pending in my AMEX for the whole week. My Samsung support account shows NO orders for me at all of either kind. My AMEX paid order has an order number that shows on some other website as paid but no data about shipping or anything else. I sat on phone hold one day for 52 minutes while doing other work and finally gave up.

To top it all off my FedEx delivery manager says I have to try again in 30 days to either add my new address or change my old address.

Why call the act of pissing off your customers a "promotion"? I wish I could just go to the store and buy the damned thing.


This all also have nothing to do with the 6 to 8 weeks. That's all fine. It is more about all the instances of telling me one thing and doing another thing. It's crazy... It feels like no one from Samsung has ever done any of this themselves.

I got my 8+ on 4/20 and registered for immersed 99 dollar pkg. Registration approved 4/22 and order placed. Shipping notification on 5/4 for delivery on Monday. Can't complain ; way quicker than 6 to 8 weeks.

Anyone else bummed about how crappy the bluetooth headphones seem to sound on most gear VR apps? The AKG headphones are so very awesome, but trying to use them without the included cable for gear vr apps is cumbersome, laggy and static pops.

FINALLY! It arrived today. Funny that i received the item sent email only after it arrived. Something is definitely wrong with their notification system.

Also seems like ever since I put the 256gb micro SD card in the phone and put most my apps on the card, seems my phone likes to randomly restart now very frequently.

I have not gotten any emails from Samsung since 4/22 when I got the approved. Samsung rep did say I was approved for the bundle, but have never gotten the pay link email.

Today the buy bundle button option was in the Samsung app, was not there yesterday. Is this how some did the buy bundle, I've read that you get an email.

i originally registered for the $99 box the morning after I got my pre order s8+ on 4/19. have been waiting patiently while keeping an eye on the internet rumors. well 2 almost 3 weeks later! finally got the email to purchase today. got so excited that I signed up for this website. after calling samsung twice got through yesterday and she upped it to tier 2 and got the email today (5/9). paid immediately and am now just waiting for it to be shipped. #stoked

Well I finally got the email with the purchase link around 8pm central time. I'm in Puerto Rico on vacation so I'll put the order in the moment I get back.

I finally got the email to purchase the bundle lastnight.

Checked the app and got my purchase now link as well. Paid last night using the app. Registered the morning of the 21st, got kicked back 2 times for no pic of receipt, finally accepted on 4/26 after being on hold for a total of 7 hours over 3 days. Now paid for bundle on 5/10. I say as long as you were able to choose the $99 bundle then you should be able to get it. Now to wait for shipping.

When I pulled up the check gift status page, it always looked just like lighteningGa picture. Except, under status it always displayed a number, 2 or 3, which meant nothing to me. I did however receive my bundle last Friday.

Preordered drom best buy for in store pickup. Registered at 1045 on the 21st, had to resubmit correct paperwork on 22nd. Just got email to buy 99.00 bundle!

UPDATE: just got email to register for bundle. Pre ordered 3/31 at best buy. Got approved on 4/22. Website still just says approved. But glad I finally got to pay. Here's to hoping shipping is relatively soon.

I got mine today, the e-mail you order. But the picture didn't show the sd card. I paid the 99.99 for it but will I get the card? I only see the headphones and gear vr.
