Release Date

So... no buying phones at full price huh? I guess I'll change my attitude towards it then. Maybe call 611 and try to get my update bumped. I have no idea. But leave VZW? They have been the best cell phone provider I've ever had. Only time will tell... decisions decisions.

If the bionic is not released then i guess I will be jumping ship for the droid charge or whatever else sounds like a good phone

Well, his first sentence was merely his own personal feelings/opinion based on the facts he has. As far as his second sentence, where he states, "There have been a lot of internal issues with the Bionic", I assure you that is fact. I've been a member of Howard Forums for quite a while now and have no problem vouching for FAUguy's credibility. He wouldn't say something like that if it weren't true. So, if he's concerned that the release of the Bionic will be delayed or cancelled altogether, then I'm definitely concerned too.

What he said doesn't jibe with what BMX has said, and observed himself. You don't know it is a fact, and we don't know that what he's saying is true. The Bionic is 90% the same as the Atrix, and that phone is just fine.

Or to put it another way: Anyone that thinks or even suggests that Verizon or Motorola will cancel the release of their flagship handset doesn't have any credibility whatsoever. Its not going to happen. Period.

Oh, and I just went to HoFo and looked over FAUGuy's posting history, and he's not credible. He doesn't know basic information that someone supposedly on the inside should know, nor does he appear to have any legitimate insider knowledge whatsoever.

I do not expect it all to be released in April and would be pleasantly surprised if it was, but over at DroidForums there are a lot of people saying April 21st. That would be awesome, unlikely but awesome!!!

I've seen any time from April 21st to mid June. I am not optimistic it will be released before May so I will stick with my Thunderbolt even though I REALLY want to get the Bionic.

Pretty bold of you to say. How about some examples to back up your statement, so you can establish some credibility yourself?

you guys are really going to have a dispute over somebody elses credibility?
I HIGHLY doubt that they will cancel the Bionic all together. But none of us really know that. There is no use getting into an argument over something so petty. Whether or not any credibility is established for either of you, it will not get us an answer on what is going on with the Bionic...And in the end, that is the only thing that the good people on this forum care about.

Agree 100%. I just find it hard not to defend someone who has never given me reason to doubt them when someone bashes them. I'll cease in engaging Droid800 in this banter though. Time will tell if there's any truth to FAUguy's statement about the Bionic having issues. 'Nuff said.

The Bionic will not be cancelled and is well on track for the expected release date. The issues that alot of people are claiming are due to release to larger testing group. Does the device have issues?? YES.. will be kill a release? NO chance in hell.. Its a 4.3 inch display dual core proc device running LTE, so battery and performance tweaks are ongoing with Motorola on a almost daily basis..

calm down and dont let the Tinfoil Hat people get ya down ;)

OMG thank you so much Panda! You really are the best and always will be! I'm so glad right now, this OG Droid is starting to drive me up the wall. I hope that expected date hasn't changed from the mid to late April mentioned in your previous poems? Anyway, thanks so much. I knew that guy from HoFo wasn't to be trusted as they are from PhoneArena and that happens to be a very biased and uninformed site. Once again, thanks so much! I have no idea what I would do without you and your insight!:p

On track is at latest the 28th of April. Are you saying that is still possible, a 2 week window from announcement to release?

Thank You Blackman X!!! I get so tired from hearing Speculations from another forum what somebody claimed to be wrong with the phone because it has not been released yet. The 2ndQ ends in June. So we got until then for the release!!! All we can do is be patient and wait!!! If you want a 1 year contract then you need to go ahead and get another Phone. I have been doing 2 year contracts as long as I remember so it will not affect me!!!

I guess the real question is what is "on track"

Since there have been so many different dates thrown around, i dont even know what on track is anymore.

At CES early Q2 was the date, so that is within April. Going by Blackmanx's poem a month back, if everyones interpretation is correct, then that also means end of April.

The supposed leaked roadmaps say May.

Analyst says end of May, early June. June 9th is also thrown out there.

And other analyst are saying it wont even make it in time for Q2.

So, i would really know which date is on track.

btw, not doubting your information, just would like to know what date on track is refering to.

TB was delayed as we all know by quite a bit and from what we heard it was battery related. If Moto is in fact having issues with a 1900MA + battery - Wow -- Could hit the June or later Tiered release date. TB was expected to have battery issues due to history of HTC and poor battery and the 1300MA battery.

It is still not delayed.. We know it is having problems but I never heard of it being a battery issue. That has always been an HTC issue.

technically TB was never really delayed as all the release dates were made up, and nothing official from verizon or HTC.

I just received a phone call from a VZW rep yesterday asking me if I would like to "upgrade" early and get a TB. I asked her why I would do that when the Bionic is coming out, and I still have several months left on my 2 year contract. She says... "...well we aren't sure when that phone will be released. What if you can't wait long enough with your Droid?"

When I told her that I loved my Droid and that I would be happy with it forever, except for the fact that this Bionic is coming out soon, she said... "Well when you decide that you can't wait any longer feel free to give me a call back and pick up a TB."

Take that as you will...

PS - I am still waiting for the Bionic. I absolutely LOVE my OG Droid, and so far the Bionic is the ONLY phone that has enticed me enough to switch from it. It is giving me a bit of a headache lately though... :)
