[Retired][ROM]Superclean 2.9.2 EA15/EB01/EB16/EC10 Based

If you are using the Rom Manager you can download from the Market, anything you flash in it right now will most likely end up causing problems. The clockworkmod recovery tied to Rom Manager is used for a different kind of script than any of the ROMs we are flashing, so you are flashing ROMs with an incompatible system. It will not hurt anything just having ROM manager on your phone. Just don't run, flash, backup, or restore anything through it for now. You can follow these forums as I'm sure as soon as Rom Manager is functional again for the Fascinate, the word will be passed around here. Do me a favor though, open Rom Manager, look at the top box that says "flash clockworkmod recovery", DON'T touch it, just check the two sets of numbers in there. The latest recovery should be 3.0.0.8. Does it say the same in current recovery or does it say 2.5.1.x?

Intereting. It sys 2.5.1.0. But when I opened Rom Manager, it said "there is an update for ClockworkMod Recovery. I don't see how to update it...but it did get me a message to that effect.

And just to be clear, I didn't flash anything through Rom Manager and that clockwork Mod. I have seen that in the forums enough. All I did was use it to back up the ROM prior to flashing through ODIN before. I jsut did the backup, and then today, out of frustration, I did "Manage and Restore Backups".

currently running eb01/16 sc 2.8

I flashed the package thru odin.

I'd like to upgrade to sc 2.9 I downloaded the file. do I put it on my sd card and just flash thru cmw?

I'm a little rusty on this because I think I've only flashed thru odin.

I need to back up with Ti Backup, wipe data, wipe cache, and dalvik before flashing correct?

I just don't wanna screw it up and be begging for all your help later :)

Yes, you put it on your sd card and flash through cwm. DroidXcon put together a step by step instructional on how to use cwm here:
http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...-clockworkmod-recovery-w-screen-captures.html
If you are coming from 2.8 to 2.9 you do not need to wipe data which means you really don't need to backup through TiBu, but you can. Good idea to wipe cache and dalvik cache prior to flashing.

Since this is a question directly related to how to install the superclean zip file through cwm you should have posted this question in Adrynalyne's superclean thread here:
http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...om-superclean-2-9-1-ea15-eb01-eb16-based.html
Or in DroidXcon's cwm thread linked above instead of starting a whole new thread to ask one question. When you have a question about something, check to see if a topic related thread already exists and ask the question there, you will get better help that way. When you learn how to navigate through and search the forums you will get much more out of the forums. There is a search function in the upper right corner. Here is some good reading to help you get the most out of the forums:

Whew. You should be ok with your backup. The current version is still the red cwm. It is not the cwm-all which is the current version and more stable. Good job of not updating clockwork through Rom Manager. That top bar in Rom Manager where you got saw that 2.5.1.0 number, if you clicked on that, that is how you update cwm through Rom Manager. But that would have given you the orange cwm which is totally incompatible with anything we use right now. Just leave Rom Manager where it is for now if you want. Eventually if it gets fixed it will definitely serve a purpose. So don't do backups through it, or any flashing of Roms, or installing of Roms through it. Follow the instructions in DroidXcon's Clockworkmod thread and you will be fine. Good luck, and happy flashing.

Thanks so much. I thought about asking in his post directly. But I wasn;t sure if that was protocol. Thanks again for all your help. I don't think I know how to search properly. I've tried it numerous times and it comes back with a few words here and there like highlighted in the text.

unless my thread is locked ask whatever you like without fear of getting flamed, the only stupid question is the one that is not asked

It's always best to try and post a question in a topic related thread because you will find members familiar with that topic there who can help you. There are a couple different search functions you can use and it would take me half a page to describe where to find them. Just check out the FAQ link I gave you and check out the links in that page, especially the General Forum Usage and Forum Rules & Guidelines threads. You will learn a ton of stuff including little tips, tricks, and shortcuts that will really help you get the most out of the forums. Just do like I did and read, read, read, and more and more of this will start to make sense. It doesn't hurt to have someone who is only two months removed from being stock and totally clueless to kind of guide you as to what will be helpful to read. Just keep plugging away, and sooner than you expected you'll be flashing and talking like a pro.

Truer words were never spoken. I didn't flame did I? I didn't intend to. Just trying to answer, direct, and educate all at the same time. If you felt flamed, I'm sorry putney. :(

I bought this great car dock on Amazon but the manual says it only works w/ Froyo. I thought, "no problem" I'll get it to work after I root the phone and eventually upgrade to 2.2.
Even with the latest update 2.9, I still can't get the aux jack to work on the car dock. The power plug works fine, but the phone still defaults to speaker phone for music, phone calls, etc rather than playing through the dock's integrated aux. out port.

I'm on SC 2.9, Issue with Corporate Email

It would appear that when I go into corporate email settings, nothing I change will save. Has anyone had any issues with Corp Email?
