[Review] Seidio Innocase Active Limited Edition

I agree with everyone saying the power button is stiff and hard to press. Just so you guys know, this was fixed in the Innocase Rugged Skin http://forum.androidcentral.com/htc-evo-4g/22125-review-seidio-innocase-rugged.html

So there's the chance that future revisions of the Innocase Active will also fix this issue.

Just wanted to throw in my 2 cents. I just got the EVO white and the active limited case arrived today. I don't know if the white changed the power button or not but i have no issues at all pressing the power button with the case on.

Could you take a look at the Rugged thread and tell us if you see the same "protrusion" of the power button? Meaning, looking at the INSIDE of the rubber layer, does the power button poke out, or sink in?

yea deff woulda been nice for them to have an indented in button cover

Im gonna email them and see if they plan on it for the revamped style and if they will swap out if I just ordered one

I just contacted them and they said they already addressed this on the Active.
They did an advance return and sending me a new case to swap mine out with.
Glad I watched this thread. lol

We'll see how the new one looks

No, i recieved the same case you did with the little indent for the power button.

call or do live chat with them. they will do an advanced return if you within the 30 days (which you should be seeming the phone is barely 30days old)

No need, the power button pushes just fine, i don't have to use excessive force on it. I have the white evo, don't know if the power button was changed or anything but i have no issues. Love this case!

oh, i thought you were saying you had the one with the indent in the case
Maybe the buttons are diff between builds?
who knows.
I dont have to use super excessive force, but its deff better when something is wedged in there.

Ok sweet, so this has been taken care off? Well, in that case, I might just be ready to order one!

Too bad they can't tell me whether or not they are going to make a leather case that will fit with the active case, I might just have to settle for the holster. Damn, at this rate, I am gonna spend like 200 bucks just to keep a 200 dollar phone safe seein how I already bought the Innocase, now I am gonna get the Active case with holster, and then, if they make one, I might just have to spring for the leather case if I don't like the holster....grrrrr

If you already have the Innocase II, you might be interested in the rugged add on kit. For $20 you get the rugged skin, skeleton, and the locking holster.

Innocase Rugged Holster Combo For use with HTC EVO 4G

Yeah, that is quite the deal, but that's just too much for me. I like the look and size of the Active case much better. I wish I wouldn't have pulled the trigger so quickly on the Innocase II. Oh well, you live and learn. I had bought the Body Glove POS and didn't have much time left to return it, so I had to order something as a replacement to keep my camera from getting scratched up.

Again, it might not have been taken care of on the Active Limited edition. Mine definitely wasn't fixed as i still have the same indent as the OP posted. I just don't have a problem pushing the power button. I highly recommend the cast though. Makes me feel that much better about caring this guy around.

Well if other people have said that they have the fixed version, then I am pretty sure they will only be sending those out to their customers from now on.

Does the silicone around the edges of the phone cause any issues? Is it on there pretty tight or does it feel kind of loose?

The silicone is very tight on the sides because of the extra hard plastic piece compressing it to the phone.
The top and bottom are silicone only, but are also fairly tight and a good fit.

When did you order the Active case? I am guessing that if I order one now, I should definitely get the version you have, the one that makes pressing the volume and power button easier? How do you compare pressing those buttons with the case on versus with the case off, is there much of a difference in the effort required?

I am debating between the Active Limited Edition from Amazon and the standard Active from SeidioOnline.

I think the limited edition looks way better as the skeleton gives it a very cool look. Unfortunately, Amazon only has the black one in stock which minimizes the look of the skeleton.

However, I've read the complaints about the power button issue and the silicon part moving too much where it's not covered by the skeleton.

Are these issues significantly reduced on the standard active version?

The one from Seidio non limited holds the sides in tighter. The Limited one I had was kinda floppy where the skeleton didn't hold it down. Other than the rubberized material coming off on my non limited I'm pretty happy with it.

It is a good case to use until Otterbox puts one out.

I just ordered it last week and got it like tues.
I dont see how they updated the style within days, bu the CSR seems to think they did.
Maybe getting rid of old stock and waiting to see if anyone complains.

volume is easy IMO. Power is trickier
obviously case off is much easier

What do you mean by the rubbery material coming off? That's the first I have hard of that?
