Personally I prefer the developer edition...everything is just a little snappier! And the overall theme is also a plus.

Hmm the builtin music app's widget is causing my phone to reset... will try and clear my caches and see if that helps.

When you say reset do you mean reboot?

Dide you wipe complete before install? LMK! Thats not good!

Sorry my bad. I did not fully wipe. (this is the first time I actually had issues by not doing so) I just fully wiped and now reinstalled everything and it's all okay

EDIT: crap I loaded some of the plugins and now the widget is rebooting my phone again. And yes scott I am attempting to use the CRT animations.

EDIT 2: It's definately the CRT animations causing my reboots. Shame I love that effect.

I think ROM updater just shows updayes for the ROM you are currently on.

Hey Scott, wiped cache and dalvik , flashed 2.6 and gmail app is missing and phone icon is missing from lock screen. Gonna try wiping and flashing again and report back, just thought I would post this first in case you knew what might of caused that

I think we are confusing terminology.... Let me explain...

Before hboot 1.5 we had 1.3 / 1.4. To gain root access we needed revolutionary. It changed the S-ON to S-OFF. That allowed writing to the devices protected partitions. From there you could install a custom recovery and then install a root package or better yet. Flash a custom ROM.

with hboot 1.5 we use the HTC Method. It unlocks the protected partitions such as system and recovery. From there you can install a custom recovery and then install root or flash a custom ROM. It does not touch the S-ON flag. It doesnt need to. Its irrelevant at this point because HTC unlocked what we needed to unlock.

I am sure it is only ME who is confusing things! lol
I admit I do not fully understand what the difference is here with the different ways to root. I just know that the 1.5 way does not seem to be as good as other ways. I was able to put your ROM on my phone after the HTC root process. However, I don't know what it did to the custom recovery section because now if I try to update your ROM or switch to another I can't reboot into recovery. I just get what looks like an error icon.

My last phone was rooted and I didn't have any problems switching ROMs. I figure That the problem lies in my full understanding of this HTC root so I would just wait for a full 1.5 root before messing with it again. I love this ROM though and would like to check out the developers addition.

I think ROM updater just shows updayes for the ROM you are currently on.

Technically its a separate ROM (But technically its the same ROM as well) and there are no updates for it so you will not see anything in Updater. But when updates are pushed for DE then you will see them in ROM Updater.

Hope that clarifies. lol

Scott, is it safe to flash the zip located here How to easily protect your HTC EVO by removing HTCLoggers with v2.4 of your CleanROM? It seems that most the HTC loggers has already been removed in your ROM but I saw in /system/lib/lib_htcloggers.so was still present.

I think it would be! But just remember, the .so is rendered useless without an application to use it

Someone else reported that... Are you signed into the sight or are you a guest? I think it is throttling guest users for some reason. Very strange! I will try to fix it but I am not even sure what to fix, lol.
