[ROM][4.19.2011] Das BAMF 1.5

i tried wiping and installing 1.1 through rom manager. but when i click install from sd card and select it, it doesnt restart or anything.

i tried a few times and noticed that it displays a spinning circle from opening the app like its loading but it never goes away.

any clues?

EDIT EDIT

reinstalled rom manager and seems to be working

EDIT EDIT Edit

while on 1.2 i had no wifi but it fixed itself with 1.3

Been running 1.3 all day, and I love it. It's so much better than oem, almost runs as good as my fascinate.

Thanks guys!

why make Titanium unable to be uninstalled, i have a older version of pro i use doesnt make sense

I am on 1.3 now - So just download the new 1.3.1 and use abd or clockwork to switch roms.

Please please please don't flame me for this comment im new to all of this lol. Can someone post a breakdown of getting this or any ROM onto my phone? I'm totally lost here and I dont want to brick my phone. I have ROM manager installed, but I don't know what to do from there. Please help?

Download the zip file on the first page. Plug your phone into your PC. Make sure you have usb debugging active on and select USB drive option on your phone when prompted. Manually copy and paste the zip file onto your phone..not inside any of the folders...on its root. Then unplug...then use ROM manager to install the ROMs zip file from the SD card. Select backup and wipe and let her go.

Be aware if you choose to wipe you will loose all yourr apps and settings. So you might want to get a backup app if you want to make that part easier later on.

It doesn't really matter where you put the file as long as it's somewhere on the sd card. When you choose Install ZIP from sd card, it gives you the option to browse to any location and select a .zip file.

I know that quandrant benchmarks aren't something to actually measure your phone by, but I'm getting about 1000 less than in the screenshots. I'm on the latest build, and I installed the kernel separately, cpu is at 1.2, what might I be missing?

I recall someone saying that those scores are from uber-quadrant (?) which basically inflates the quadrant score way above normal.

Got it. Even if that's an inaccurate fact, I will take it as gospel so that I stop worrying about it :)

BTW: Just hit 2119. No matter what the number is, this definitely feels faster.

I flashed the 1.3.2 ROM, but do i need to download the kernel as well? If I do need to download it, how to you install the kernel? Also, do you need to do anything else to overclock it?

I installed the kernal through Clockwork Recovery (same way I installed the ROM).

For overclocking it, I think it comes stock. However if you want to use his "smartass" power manager, I think you need to download "SetCPU" from the app store and set power management to smartass.

My battery went from 100% to 92% in less than five minutes, what could be causing this? I have the newest das and nothing installed but ESPN scorecenter which didn't kill me before

The kernel is included i think, depending which zip file you installed. Go to settings, about phone, software, and it will tell you what kernel you are using.

The smartass governor is included in adryn's kernel, and it is tweaked already. If you use setcpu i believe you will be interfering with the smartass governor, and it is suggested in the op or on xda somewhere to use a different governor if you plan to use setcpu as well.

@xsouthwell - did you try a reboot? also, you could go to battery usage and have a look at what's eating all your battery. it's not scorecenter.

edit:
btw, anybody having trouble getting third party keyboards to work? i have tried better keyboard 8 and gingerbread keyboard, enabled them both, but still stuck on the stock keyboard for some reason. ??? thx

Looks promising but I'll definitely wait and see what comes of this once the 2.3 Gingerbread update hits.

im not trying to be rude, but figured it would be best to start with easy stuff. are you just enabling the keyboard or are you long pressing in the field you want to type in so you can select the keyboard? i am running better 8 right now

I thought that only using other profiles in setcpu was forbidden.

Setcpu scaling set to smartass by default is what is needed. Can we get any confirmation on this?

That's what I've been doing as well. I assumed that was the required method. I'm going to benchmark with and without it a couple times and document my results.
