I agree the battery life with this rom/kernel combo is awesome. I practically dont loose any juice while idling.

Did you have to run the kernel via fastboot? I know it comes with a kernel pre-installed which is why I wonder about having to do it again.

The only time you had to use fastboot was if you installed the very first version where the kernel was separate. At that time, the only way to flash the kernel was fastboot or doing the pg05img.zip in hboot. The kernels after the Thunderbolt source was released are flashable via cwm.

i downloaded the themed version from xda, but i think the rom comes with the kernel included these days. You can check the kernel you have by going to settings - about phone - software info.

and if you need or want to flash a kernel, you can download it, put it on the root of your sd card, boot into recovery, wipe cache and dalvik, and then install/choose zip from sd card.

Is there a complete NOOB guide on how to flash a ROM to the TBolt? i have been able to successfully root my TBolt. Other than that i have not been able to do much. I want to load this or other ROMS but it all sounds confusing. I was a BB used for about 5 years and have never owned an Android phone. SO all the terms and needed applications i don't know about. A guide that explains how to do this and what is needed would be great. I have ROM Manager and superuser. What else do i need and how should i go about this ROM flashing?


Thanks in advance for anyone posting helpful material and or telling me what i should do.

Everything else seems great so far. Fyi I just used 1.4 as an upgrade in clockwork and no problems so far. When you first boot up, give it about 3 minutes or so. It will look like its frozen but its not. BE PATIENT!

I too just upgraded from 1.3.2, I went with the remix and love the black theme in market and other screens on phone. New battery indicator is sweet tooth. Just have had it minutes, I use CPU Tuner cause its free and has worked great! This thing is super fast! Finally hit 2k quadrant @ 1.3 and 2.2k @1.4. Thanks again for this great ROM, keep it up and I'll get you another beer.ol

Everything working well except two things:

1. When plugged into computer, I get an error saying my computer does not reognize the usb device. I've tried different ports and I've even tried another computer. No dice.

2. Went into Rosie settings to change right button on launchbar from the stock internet that it's mapped to, to the camera app. However when right button is pressed..camera app won't load and a little grey pop up states something about a manifest??

Any help would be appreciated!!!

BTW..wtf is death ray and how do I use it? And as far as the kernel goes, should I have it on "ondemand" with custom profiles on setcpu or one of the other settings?

Everything seems to work well, but I'm noticing that my data speeds on LTE seem to be capped at 5 mb/s in areas where I would normally receive better results. I tried reinstalling and wiping cache, but the issue continues.

Non-themed to Themed

I still new to custom ROMs, and I had a question. I'm currently running 1.3.2 non-themed. Can I directly upgrade to the either version of 1.4, regular or Remix, or is there a specific upgrade path needed?(I.E. non-themed to regular, themed to Remix?)

I did a straight upgrade from 1.3.2 to 1.4 and all went well. The only problem I am currently having is that Voice Search doesn't work. It Force Closes when I try to use it.

I may try a full wipe but Ill wait to see if there is a fix or update before I do.

Some things(Particularly FriendStream) are heavily integrated into HTC Sense UI, so they can't be removed without also removing Sense entirely. You'll have to go with a de-sensed ROM to get rid of everything.
