[ROM][5.07.2011][ED01]Community Rom V1.3

I was trying to get around having to do that :-\

I know man, kind of a drag, but we live and learn..you'll never forget your nandroid from here on out I bet :) ..if you want to wait, I'll try something for you.. it might take a little while but I'll get back to you sometime today.. :)

Awesome. Glad you got it working, and glad I could help!

What did you download to get it working...for future reference... did you just use Car Cradle in the desk dock?

I had to download the Galaxy Dock Sound Redirector in the market that was at the bottom of the post you linked to. the car cradle app gave me the same problem.

It weird that you would need that app just to "redirect sound" but whatever, leave it to samsung.....

Thanks for the info..I didn't really read the post over there too much, just skimmed. : )

Since installing the 1.2 patch I now have the "sent from Samsung mobile" signature in my emails. Can't get rid of it. I have signature I want used in settings but doesn't work?Has anybody posted a fix did a search can't find one.
Sorry, haven't heard of one. Same issue here.

I am not sure if this has been directly pointed out in this huge ass thread so just in case it helps anyone out with GPS issues here it is:

[ROM][4.27.2011][ED01]Community Rom V1.2 - Page 19 - xda-developers

Directly from adrynalyne:

"I mean a data wipe after installing rom. That way the modified secgps.conf file gets regenerated with the settings I chose."

I am not sure if everyone understands that the Data Wipe needs to be done AFTER installing the Community ROM Kangbang as per stated above by Adrynalyne.

This seems to have cured my problems with intermitent navigation paralysis. That, or the data wipe knocked out an app that was interfering that I just haven't reinstalled yet.

Me too. So far it's been the only incorrectable bug I've found.

This is for an exchange server correct?

If so I had issues with my phone not being able to sync properly with Exchange servers in SuperClean. It was pointed out that Touchdown was a great e-mail program for Exchange.

Touchdown is a $20.00 application however if you are using this for your work / business it is worth the money. There is a trial version of it as well so you can check it out before you buy it.

I know this is not a fix to the issue but I have been very happy with the Touchdown application and the options it provides me. Great app for Exchange e-mail.

It is for work exchange e-mail only, but It's not that big a deal for me. The stock app works well enough. I just don't include a signature on anything sent from my phone. If I'm going to send anything more than a quick one sentence reply, then I'm going to go to my desk to do it anyway. I've heard good things about Touchdown, it's just not worth the $20 to me right now.

No exchange server on my accounts. Like others have said it's no huge problem but one of those irritating little things to me.

Ive been running this rom since it came out, I didnt wipe the data at the time but was thing of doing it now and was wondering if it would hurt anything doing it now?

Alright my man,

I tried moving the swype.apk from edo1.zip (adry stock deodexed/debloated ED01) and I got force closes. The Samsung keyboard and Gingerbread Keyboard from that .apk would work fine, but the swype was a force close circus. (Tried just about everything to get it to work, cleared cache's, cleared swype data.etc.)

I then succesfully moved the .apk from Com Rom back into the system/app folder using root explorer, and it's fully functional no force closes.

So if you can extract the ComRom.zip on your home computer (or phone) then find the swype.apk (it's in system/app of the extracted ROM) store it on your sdcard, then move it to the app folder of your phone's system folder using root explorer (you don't want to move it in there using windows explorer on your pc) it will prompt you to overwrite your existing swype, and BOOM your back to the swype that came with comrom.

You can follow this same process to try swype.apk's for other ROM's (2.9.2, Evil Fascination)...but just be warned they may not work..make sure you keep a copy of comrom's swype somewhere on your sdcard and don't "move it" but "copy" it when you want to move it somewhere..

If you get force closes just disable swype in settings--Language and Keyboard--Select Input Method.. And chose a different method, i.e. samsung keyboard..

hope that helps..if you hadn't already re-flashed the rom! :)

Awesome, thanks man! I actually already did re-flash the rom...but knowing that you can possibly extract and mix and match apk's from different rom's is great to know! I might try to go to the original super clean swype since I liked that one the best so far.

Thanks again!

Well, after a day of trying, I wouldn't try it doing it. I have had the same result with all swype.apk's I've tried. If someone knows more about this please clue us in.

I have tried copy and pasting using Root Explorer the swype.apk from the following sources:

Edo1.zip (debloated/deodexed Adry)
SC2.9.2
NitroDark 4.2.1

All resulted in a functional gb and samusng keypad, but a force close loop from enabling swype.

I have also tried the AxT9IME.apk from sc2.9.2 and that didn't do a thing at all.

I have also tried clearing cache's, wiping swype data in applications etc.. to no avail.

I have also tried deleting the swype.apk from the system/app folder then moving the new swype.apk of the respective source into the system/app folder

Any ideas peoples? What am I missing..or is it impossible..

Has anyone had an issue with the camera locking the phone up and causing the phone to eventually reboot? I did the steps to get the ED01 radio then flashed the community rom, nothing major...

Ok... Stupid question..... Does the Comm Rom come with a kernel and how do I check to see which one I have?

Ive been running this rom since it came out, I didnt wipe the data at the time but was thing of doing it now and was wondering if it would hurt anything doing it now?

I initially did the same thing but after a few days I wanted to be pure so I downgraded back to DL09, applied the EA28 update and then the ED01 update. I LOVE the way the phone has been working and I have zero complaints.

Now I am messing around with the voltage settings to try and get better battery life. :-)

Right in the changelog in the OP:

Changelog (1.0)
-------------

Voodoo only.
ED01 based.
Debinged entirely, debloated.
Edify compatible.
Awesome kernel from nemesis2all, including voltage control support included in Rom.
Supports accelerometer calibration.
Stay awake options enabled in Development settings.

Nemesis2all's OTB voodoo kernel v1.2

If you haven't flashed a different kernel since flashing the 1.2 patch for Comm ROM, this is the kernel you are running. If you have flashed a different kernel since and don't remember which you flashed, there really isn't a way to check which one you are running. Your kernel version will be the same for any of the available kernels right now.

I did the same thing. Loving having no Bing! Coming from stock rooted ED01, this is awesome!
