Well, after a day of trying, I wouldn't try it doing it. I have had the same result with all swype.apk's I've tried. If someone knows more about this please clue us in.
I have tried copy and pasting using Root Explorer the swype.apk from the following sources:
Edo1.zip (debloated/deodexed Adry)
SC2.9.2
NitroDark 4.2.1
All resulted in a functional gb and samusng keypad, but a force close loop from enabling swype.
I have also tried the AxT9IME.apk from sc2.9.2 and that didn't do a thing at all.
I have also tried clearing cache's, wiping swype data in applications etc.. to no avail.
I have also tried deleting the swype.apk from the system/app folder then moving the new swype.apk of the respective source into the system/app folder
Any ideas peoples? What am I missing..or is it impossible..
Alright friends, after some digging around, I have found a fix for this and have moved the swype.apk from my wife's stock ED01, and a theme (NitroDark4.2.1 to my ComRom and it's fully functional now, with no FC loop.
Here's what you'll need.
Root Explorer v 2.15 (must have the newest version of Root Explorer)
the libSwypeCore.co file and directions found here:
[APPS] Swype Themed Updated - xda-developers
swype.apk from whatever theme or Rom you like. ( I was succesful with stock ED01 swype.apk, and the theme NitroDark swype.apk. (which is very gnarly I might add)
Steps:
Download or extract from .zip file the swype.apk of your choice and move to sdcard (I rename it while storing on sdcard to keep them straight...i.e...swypeND.apk)
Download the libSwypeCore.co file (link above) and move it to system/lib and paste it there with Root Explorer
Un-name your new flavor of swype.apk (if you renamed it) and long press and select copy (make sure the file is name swype.apk when you copy it or this won't work)
scroll over to the system/app folder and paste the swype.apk there. (Agree to overwrite existing)
Once it's pasted, scroll down to swype.apk, and long press.
Scroll all the way to the bottom and select CHANGE OWNER
Change both options to 0 ROOT
Hit OK
Long press on the swype.apk again and select Permissions from the menu
make sure there are check's in all the READ column and the first box of the WRITE column .thats all a TOTAL of 4 checks
hit ok, and make sure the Swype.apk has this underneath: rw-r--r--
if it does, back out of root explorer and give it a try ( I can't guarantee with all swype.apk's but I used two from two different theme's/ ROM and it worked for both. Try at your own risk.)
good luck !
PS if a mod wants to move this that's fine, I know it's off topic of ED01, I'll try to get Jaekar to post on his thread if he's comfortable doing so. If not I'll start a thread.

Sorry Adry!
