[ROM][5.07.2011][ED01]Community Rom V1.3

So,,., I have an issue with my calendar, not the same issue people are having with the reminder alert. I get a FC everytime I try to enter an event to my calendar using the phone. It seems to sync just fine with exchange, events created in outlook get synced with the phone just fine. I just cant enter events in the phone directly.

I did flash the calendar patch, it said it was installed succssfully but I still get the error. Something I noticed is that I still have a themed calendar, it does not look like the original touchwizz calendar, so maybe the patch is not taking?

Any ideas?

is anyone having an issue with USB Debugging not working after installing this ROM? I have tried it twice and both times I lose my debugging mode. Is there a way to fix this, or should I go bacl to 1.2?

Theot, this has been a mixed bag for everyone....Adry recommends wiping after to get the GPS to work how he configured it. If you don't use gps/navigation too much, then you may not notice. A data wipe is good for clearing all themes, remnants of everything applied by the user. From personal experience, I like to follow the dev's recommendation. the people I help on here generally find fixes by going back and reflashing and doing a data wipe. It's dev recommended, but a lot of people would tell you it's not necessary. If you get some snags, then it might be something you might consider going back and doing..otherwise if it ain't broke don't fix it!!

Well you learn something new each day, I thought doing a wipe wiped the Rom, that explains it. Now I get it. I don't use the GPS much at all but I'll be checking on the way home. Otherwise I have this thing running sweet right now, other than my battery life sucks like normal with every rom, lol.

Thanks for the help.

Cool man.. wipe data/factory reset ? Did you do that?

Tried this last night, didn't work. RTS'd today, currently trying to install ED01 update. Took two hours to get to 98% the first time then it quit.

Attempt #2 underway now. Extraordinarily frustrated right now :/

Ibrenes, I just tried this out and didn't have any issues..

There may be a bug with the Rom and Google Sync..I have sent some logcats to adry so he can look things over.

Some fixes in the mean time would be to try to clear your calendar data...redownload and reflash the patch..then resync your data..

The tw calendar is themed with this rom..should be black..if it looks othewise, you probably have a remnant from an old theme, or Rom and need to either reflash your Rom or try wiping data.

If you restored calendar data from a backup app, like My Backup Pro, or TiBu that may also give you problems.. I had issues last night when restoring app data from mybupro.

Unfortunately, the only fix for that that I now of is to wipe data/fr in cwm..

Good Luck!

Did you re-install app data via a backup app?

I found that gave me 3g data problems, and a FC circus..

If your trying to OTA to ED01 and it's taking forever, you might just consider flashing one of sharks ODIN packages.. I think he'll have KB1.3 packages available soon.

As for right now, I would just try one of the stock packages, let it boot all the way up, then ODIN CWM...then install 1.3, data wipe..

Good luck.

Your welcome..If your battery life is bad, and you have reset battery stats soon after converting to 1.3..then try undervolting your kernel. I currently have every setting 100-1000 -50mv (dev recommended settings)..and I have no problems..

:)

I am not exactly sure where that is. I am also not necessarily looking to change the ROM. This one is running pretty good so far.

He's refering to a theme. It wouldn't change your Rom, just the way it looks.
It's completely reversible by creating a backup in CWM prior to flashing the theme.

I just hooked up and had no problems. Check this:

Settings---TSM Parts-----EXTRAS---USB Debugging is checked.

If it isn't check it and try again..

:)

I am assuming it wont take effect until a rebbot correct? The USB Debugging in TSM parts was checked ON, it needs to be checked OFF to show up correctly, right? Thanks

The box should have a green check inside. (ON I guess)

Here is what I have going on:

Settings---applications---development---USB Debugging is Checked (ON)

Settings----TSM Parts---extras---USB Debugging is Checked (ON)

Settings--USB Settings---Mass Storage is selected

Try putting your settings like this, and reboot

If they are like listed above, then you may have to reflash your Rom wipe data/fr etc..ugh..

yeah that is what I was afraid of.....crazy thing about it though is before I flashed the COMROM 1.3 it worked just fine. I previously had CR 1.2 and it was working fine, once I flashed the newest version is when I started seeing the problem. Thanks for your help buddy

Anytime!! Good luck!

1.3..is a great Rom!! But it is very sensitive to the install process.. If you plan on re-flashing, you could try it without a data wipe first and see if it works, but if your hitting the same snag, I would consider data wipe/fr after flashing the Rom..

I reflashed stock ED01 and had a weird thing happen.....I had the green "android" letters and the regular samsung boot up flashing at the same time on start up. started up fine, but that cant be good I dont think. I am going to give 1.0, then the 2 patches a try first and then go to 1.3 if all is good. I will keep you posted.

STOCK ED01...hmm..you might have wanted to disable lagfix before flashing that one.. may be the source of your problem there.. can't say for sure..probably definitely wouldn't have hurt..it may re-write anyway..

No need to go through 1.0 and the patches unless you just want to..

1.3 includes 1.0 and all patches in it. I would just wipe/data clear you cache's, flash rom, wipe data.fr again, reboot.

That will pretty much guarantee a clean install.

As you probably already know, Just be prepared for the wipe data/fr. It will clean all your user data, apps, etc out.. Make a backup using my back up pro or Titanium backup.

I checked and made sure the ED01 stock didnt contain a kernel, so I figured it would be ok to flash it. am I right in assuming that?
