[ROM][5.07.2011][ED01]Community Rom V1.3

dont factory reset... just a cache wipe and dalvik wipe is fine

flash com rom

enable lagfix

reboot

enjoy

It does but I did read a thread where somebody stated that you need to do the wipe for the GPS aid fixes to work properly. Now this does not sound right to me but it was stated.

Me myself going to this new ROM I want to wipe my data and clean the phone as much as possible. I never have issues starting clean. As you can see from the threads many others do.

Up to you but this is correct you don't HAVE to wipe data.

y not factory reset has something changed from the OP were its recommended to factory reset ? im already running voodoo and the kernel that comes with the rom so i shouldnt need to enable the lagfix correct and i shall enjoy any work comming from this brilliant crew of developers and testers and bright minded advice givers

you CAN factory reset... it isn't necessary though.... cache/dalvik are fine

its personal preference.

you should have lagfix enabled, but it doesn;t hurt to double check

LatinIME sounds like the Latin language version. I would not use that one.

Also there are like three files that get installed. You want to find the .apk file for Swype. I don't know the exact name but it should have swype and .apk in it

Everything I've seen seems to indicate that that is just the name of the file. I found a Gingerbread one that was titled "gingerbreadLatinIME".

Pull the APK from the ZIp and move it to your SD and install the app.

Along with the APK file, there was also an 'odex' file in the zip (only the two files). I copied over the apk and nothing changed. after reboot I copied over the odex file, it told me it was an installation file, i attempted to install it, but then told me install failed.

Perhaps it's just not compatible with this ROM? I don't know that much about it :-\

this doesn't sound right to me either... do you remember who/where it was stated?

Ummm...that would be Adrynalyne right in the changelog. I'm guessing he knows just a little about how this ROM functions:

Changelog (1.0)
-------------

Voodoo only.
ED01 based.
Debinged entirely, debloated.
Edify compatible.
Awesome kernel from nemesis2all, including voltage control support included in Rom.
Supports accelerometer calibration.
Stay awake options enabled in Development settings.
Reboot options from power button.
Dial Up Networking mode enabled in Wireless settings.
GPS enhanced framework(requires data wipe initially).
Modified GPS.conf.
Volume keys wake phone.

Just installed the new ROM and changed to Voodoo from non. Everything went smoothly. For some reason the female android talking during the initial reboot process cracked me up.

Thanks, everyone!

Just throwing this out there for folks trying to figure out how they want to go about loading this up. I tried this out with EC01 and it worked but after going back and going through the steps to get the ED01 radio I am seeing greatly improved performance when it comes to GPS... This may not be the case for everyone but that's how it worked out for me.

You can find Adryns post on how to do this here

wow flash and running inside of 2 minutes
now gona move around the system abit i had no female voice was this because i was already voodoo and did no odin work ?

You're not the only one to report the improved GPS with the ED01 radio. That's why after I get some ODIN packages made I am going to use Adry's method to get to ED01 so I have the radio.

Do you use bluetooth for anything..if so can you try to voice dial from from your bt device sans nuance and see if it works? If not it will say something to the effect of " Not supported" or "No voice commands software could be found" ( One of the listed general feature improvements to Froyo is "voice dialing".....Fascinate has an earmark..."With third party software...." ugh..

If not no problem, I'll be hoppin on the KangBang bus in a couple days and report what I find then.. :D

Two finals and a unit test on Molecular Geometry are all that separate me and kang bang..

OK I have a Jawbone. I pair it no problem. I cannot use voice dialing with it. It works as it did on SC 2.9.2 without Nuance. When I long press the button it says "voice dialing" (built into the jawbone) but it does not work. Same now, it appears without Nuance voice dialing wont work still.

When I have Nuance installed and I long press the button I get (voice dialing) from my Jawbonel, then the phone automatically loads up Nuance and a different computer voice says "speak a command or say help".

Thanks Landshark I did not even notice he put that in the change log. I only remember reading somebody else stating it and it did not make sense.

Where as it is in the change log as stated by Adrynalyne I don't care if it does not make sense. It is gospel in my mind now. :)

Glad I did the wipe :)

Ive been playing and running voltage controls on this kernel for around 2 weeks while it was on my EB01 so i set it back up identical to what it was before which gave me great performance and batt life and that is as fallows

1200mhz: 1300-25=1275mV
1120mhv: 1300-25=1275mV
1000mhv: 1275-25=1250mV
900mhv: 1275-25=1225mV
800mhv: 1200-50=1150mV
600mhv: 1175-50=1125mV
400mhv: 1050-75=975mV
200mhv: 950-75=875mV
100mhv: 950-75=875mV

these setting were working great for me before so thats were ill start with this rom but all is good so far

I've been reading these boards for a while now, finally joined a couple weeks ago...am hooked. Just took the step to Voodoo...wow, just wow. This worked perfectly with the instructions given...don't know why I've been so afraid of it for so long. This ROM works so well...I have yet to run into any issues. Thank-you all very much who worked on this for getting this out so quickly. I love it!

Just updated and did the cache wipe and DALVIK wipe applied community ROM and then lagfix and rebooted. Was very surprised to see when I hit the search soft key that I was still Bing as the search engine. Any ideas on what happened? Everything else looks like it upgraded.

Were you coming from stock ED01? If so it looks like verizon did such a fantastic job of embedding bing, if you don't do a data wipe, you don't get rid of it.

Thanks for the info. Can you copy and paste it in this thread? That way all the different voltage settings can be seen together? Thanks.

Yep. I came from Stocl ED01. Was really trying not to have to do a data wipe. Oh well.... I really don't want Bing so back to a clean drawing board. Thanks for all the help Landshark!
