[ROM][5.07.2011][ED01]Community Rom V1.3

Is anyone having problems attaching a sound file (specifically mp3) to a text message? My messaging app keeps FCing, when I try to attach a sound file, video or pics work fine.

Which messaging app are you using? The stock app or a 3rd party?

Ha.... looks like you answered your own question! But yes... that process will keep the ED01 radio.... the comm room does not include a radio, so those flashing the rom from SC will still be on the same radio they had before

2... I'm sure you will see improvements! Make sure you charge to 100% (with the phone off) boot into recovery... wipe battery stats... and reboot. Obviously, battery life varies from phone to phone, but this has been BY FR the best battery life I have ever experienced. Good Luck!

I am sad to report that battery life still sux! I wiped batt stats a little over 3 hours ago, after a full charge while the phone was off, booted into recovery to wipe and been running my phone ever since. Restored some apps, talked on the phone for 10 min, nothing too taxing. My battery is now down to 73%. This is the ONLY time I miss by Blackberry. I could go days on a single battery charge.

give me a little background... do you have a lot of widgets runninig on your home screens? what type of wallpaper are you using (light or dark? live animation?) What is your brightness setting at?

All these types of things affect battery life

Also, if you toggle OFF the data when you are not using it, it saves battery TREMENDOUSLY! (Turing it off will not affect phone calls or MMS, just internet data)

Man that thread us getting long! Anyway I've stopped getting notifications for kik and word feud. Notifications are turned on so could this be a problem with the apps or the rom? Love everything about this rom so far keep up the hard work.

Although that thread is long, you would have been better off posting this question there instead of creating a new thread. There is more traffic on that thread, hence, you will get more people to address your concern.... just some advice to use in the future.

As for your notification question... I still get notifications, have you done a cache/dalvik wipe? That could help

As of my fresh install:
* No widgets
* Charcoal Grey plain wallpaper
* Brightness is at Automatic and the slider is about at the 25% level

I'll test with turning off the data but only for a test. I would rather recharge my phone then to limit it. I feel if I pay a premium price for a phone I should be able to use it.

are you using Launcher Pro? Or stock TW launcher?

Once you wipe battery stats, it will take a few charge cycles before you actually notice an improvement. Wiping the stats means the phone and battery have to basically "get used to" how you use them again, and that can't happen immediately. Give it a few days before pass a final judgement

More specifically, starting with cleared stats often under-estimates the "floor" of the battery and it will get to 0% faster (because it sees it as a higher voltage), but it will stay there for a while as it learns where the actual cut-off point of the battery is. Next charge, it will start using that floor and take longer to get to 0.

Hey we all have unanswered questions pal. No need to shout.

First, my name is geosnipe and not pal. Second, I am not shouuting. I have questions and answer questions like alot of others. Third and finally, I CAPSed it because in all the excitement of the new ROM it is easy to have a post be overlooked.

I hope you are having gr8 success with the new ROM. Are you experiencing my problem or does sending a sound file through sms work for you?

Does this kernel include a dummy tether module like a few of the old ones did?

Battery life

I'm happy to report that the battery life on this ROM is adequate (for me). I use my phone for business and take anywhere from 10-20 phone calls a day lasting from 5-30 minutes each. I periodically check Facebook, lots of emails (reading and sending 15-30 a day) and have just a few widgets running. Also, I use GoLauncher and have the EC01 radio (if that makes any difference).

Here's a little log of my usage yesterday.

4/27/11 – Usage: Moderate/Heavy
3G: On, Bluetooth: On, Wireless: Off, GPS: Off, Wallpaper: Static - Darkish Photo, Screen Brightness: Auto

6:45AM Pulled off charger. Bat @ 99%
9:15AM Bat @ 80%
12:00PM Bat @ 70%
2:45PM Bat @ 49%
4:00PM Bat @ 43%
4:00PM Bluetooth Off
7:20 Connected charger. Bat @ 26%

I came from Blackberry (9530>8530>9650) and was used to quite a bit better battery life, however I use this phone a LOT more than I ever used any of my BlackBerry phones, so I'm pretty happy with what I'm getting.

Btw, I did reset my battery stats (after charging battery with phone off) after installing this ROM.

Sorry to see that some are getting poor results.

battery life

I too am getting good battery life after flashing to ED01. I am rooted also. My phone has been off the charger now for 13 1/2 hours and the icon doesn't show it down any, although it has to be somewhat down. This is mostly in standby mode. I haven't made or received any calls but I have been on it checking some things out. I am satisfied with the battery life I am getting. It seems better than before to me.

Will do.
