Re: [ROM][4/4/12][4.0.4][AXI0M]Crossbreed/DRIVEN/PATIENT ZERO

Lol yeah that's another one I'm still "learning" to use... As in I tried one day then got lazy and gave up ;)

So easy.

Configure.

Find zip.

Always make undo.zip

Profit.

Yup. It makes two zips--the zip with the theme/softkeys, and the undo zip. Flash it like you would a theme (cache/dalvik wipe), and boom. Hate it? Flash the undo zip.

Make sure to have your rom's zip on there. That's what you configure to.

Check out YouTube for using each of those. They're actually pretty good, and most times posted by someone at RootzWiki, or similar. Try this one [BAS] Change Galaxy Nexus Sofkeys - YouTube. That one makes a fine example of how to use ZipThemer. I've resorted to using the SoftKeys posted at Rootz (or was it XDA) and injecting them directly into the ROM.

Of course, I prefer the NavBar adjustments in ROM Control in pre-V18 and Driven ROMs. That's the main reason I won't use those. Why go backwards? I understand the clean slate, but don't strip out the things people prefer most.

This one is for MetaMorph http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enBQzxnpmMs.

What softkeys have you been using?

That post is a personal favorite of mine lol

Re: [ROM][4/4/12][4.0.4][AXI0M]Crossbreed/DRIVEN/PATIENT ZERO

MetaMorph is actually easier to use, and has hundreds of themes and individual icons to pick from, but it doesn't create an undo backup like ZipThemer, so you can only use a nandroid to go back. Kinda sucks.

But then again, here's a YouTube for using MetaMorph themes with ZipThemer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MIpAMfUJKQ.

So is V18 a keeper then. I went to CND after M2 kept locking up and not waking up. I have been waiting for a reason to come back. I have not checked but I assume the kernel in CND is not as under-volted as Franko M1 and M2. I had issues on those.

It depends on your likes and/or needs. I personally use V16 until V19 comes out. V18 is stripped pretty bare of tweaks and goodies (as I mentioned previously, no ROM Control). No wallpapers/themes included. I think DT just brought V18 to where Driven v1.1 is to include the official 4.0.4 update. Driven is also stripped of goodies and tweaks until he builds on the baseline.

So it depends on you. If you're more interested in performance, I've heard PZ V18 and Driven work well. If you want some variety in functionality, one of the previous is probably the one. Updates are coming out slower now, so you have time to play around. I've found that I don't like the Trinity kernels as much as Franco's, and Trinity seems to be DT's kernel of choice these days, so I switch.

V18 has ROM Control and NavBar adjustments. In fact, I don't see anything that was in previous versions of Patient Zero that is not in V18. Here are screenshots.

I agree with your choice of Kernels. prefer Franco's also.

There was something about it (I don't remember now). It may have been that the kernel packaged in the ROM was a 512 variety, which my phone will absolutely not tolerate...

Yeah I know someone on droidhive had a problem with their pixelation because their phone had issues ,they had posted screen shots of it . They made an adjustment and later reported back their issue was fixed .

As a side note kinda glad my phone can handle either the trinty kernel or francos

Giving the glados kernel a run since all the popular kids at droidhive are raving about it, theory included. It's pretty impressive and the app for it let's you tweak a whole bunch of stuff. Give it a shot if you crackflashers feel like having some fun, lol.

The app is like $2+ but your supporting a good dev, ezekeel, whose code and tweaks are used in a lot of the popular kernels.

Also when you first flash it you'll notice some awful colors, lol, but once you tweak them it looks great. Using these values that DT posted:

Going to have to flash glados. Ezekeel does the sound mod for francos kernel of I recall.

Btw, my soft keys > your soft keys ;-)

Lol I flashed the HTC one soft keys, so small.

Also, is cross breed officially dead? Particularly since driven is his own shindig?
