Would you like to see the CIQ Removal in the next release of ACE?

Just ran into an issue the past couple of days. A bunch of my apps are no longer listed on the app screen. If I go to the market place under my apps, they are listed there. Any ideas what might be causing this? Apps like Angry Birds, Stupid Zombies, etc just started disappearing from app list.

Edit: after doing some testing and reading up on similar issues. It appears to be a problem with AMLauncher with apps stored on the SD card. Apparently a recent marketplace update broke the launcher. I tried to restore using My Backup Pro, but it did not appear on the backup list (perhaps b/c it was baked in?). Does anyone have the version apk which was included in ACS 1.7 so I can restore to the older version?

You can pull it out of the ROM, and manually place it in your /system/app directory using Root Explorer (paid app) or Ghost Commander (free app). You can also push it using ADB.

Market= Vending.apk

Had issues with more ROM flashes.. cant wait for this release Paul.. take your time but we all look forward to it..

I'm new to the ROM/rooting scene but decided to try your v1.7 out last week. Everything is working excellently but I noticed my in-car bluetooth isn't working anymore. Is there a fix to this or a planned fix in v2.0?

Bluetooth had some issues on EB13 which ACE v1.7 is based on.

I'm currently working on updating ACE v2.0 to EC05 which seems to have fully functional blue tooth. I'm not a big blue tooth user so I'm limited in what I can comment on with blue tooth usage.

Totally pumped for this release Paul... I'm running Syndicate 1.1.0 right now since it was EC05 based but loved ACE 1.7 (just had bluetooth needs). I was actually just about to flash back over to ACE since I liked it better than any other ROM.... now I'll wait till 2.0 is out...
Nice work!! Very appreciated!

Not able to Flash Rom

I have no been able to get 1.7 to work at all, i have tried everything from re rooting then back to stock, i have tried ec05, eb13, i have tried different Kernels. i just cannot figure this out. I go into ClockWork, i wipe x3, i load zip from SD card and it only does a Boot Loop every time. i can get just about any other Rom to work but this one.

Thanks in advance

First of all, you need to be running Froyo EB13 to flash this ROM. You have to be converted to EXT4/CWM 3.0.0.5/3.0.0.6.

I'm very surprised to hear this because if you look over this entire thread you probably are the first person to say they are having issues stopping them from running this ROM. Its actually a VERY stable ROM because it has very little mods to cause issues/conflicts. The packaged kernel has been proven to work very well also.

ya thats mainly why i want to run this rom, it seems very stable but for some reason i cant get it going... and Yes i have converted to EXT4/im using CWM3.0.0.6

What does "can't get it going" mean? It won't flash in Clockwork? Won't boot?

Release update

ACE ROM 2.0 is close to release. I will only have the ACE ROM v2.0 "journaling enabled" version available at release. I'm having some issues with the " no journaling " version and when they are resolved I will release that. I think many of the users are happier with the journaling enabled version anyways :) Hopefully I will get this released sometime over the next day or two, I'm just waiting on one last thing and we should be ready to go.

Until then take a peak at the OP of this thread, I have one of the new wallpapers up and a revised look to the layout of the thread.

Looking forward to your release.

Is there anything more than a theoretical speed advantage by having journaling disabled? Or, is there a noticeable difference in speed? Obviously having journaling enabled would make the system more stable, but how frequent is this safeguard really put into play?

I believe having journaling on slightly decreases the useful lifetime of the internal memory, due to the number of read/writes, similar to how a solid state hard drive has a certain number of total read/writes that it can do. (Someone please correct me/clarify this as you see fit)

Edit: That being said, for people who have issues with ROMs that have journaling off, it's well worth it.
