[ROM] ACE ROM v2.0 (No Further EC05 Development)

Hi everyone.

I've upgraded my Rom to EC05/Ace2.0 and I'm trying to install the Samsung app AllShare or Dina.apk but unfortunately the only version I can find is for the one that works on EB13 and I tried to use the version on this thread but it comes up with the error: Application not installed. Can anyone direct me to where I can get that?

OK - new update ; for some reason I am still getting freezes at various points as mentioned on my previous entry to include Power Off / Market / opening already installed apps / changing Beautiful Widgets on homescreen ; I have to pull battery to get fix each time ; I reflashed again ( now please remember I was having same types of issues with other ROMs except Bonsai and TrulyEpic Rebirth - so it might be my phone or "user error" ). I don't really wanna have to do Odin again (= did once already after the first time I tried using ACE 2.0) ... this is a REALLY cool ROM and I want to use it. HELP !

Texas, I have had the shutdown lockups myself. Its not every time but it has happened a few for the once in a while I do shut down the device. Market and other apps I haven't had lockups on, that has been basically solid running. I may attempt running a log cat later on the device and see if I can pick something up on what is happening with the shutdown lockups, because that is really mind boggling what would be causing a lockup. It happens after you accept "Yes" to shutdown the device, usually a second or so into the shutdown animation.

It should, make a NanDroid backup in CWM just in case something goes weird from flashing it so you can restore.]

Texas, I have had the shutdown lockups myself. Its not every time but it has happened a few for the once in a while I do shut down the device. Market and other apps I haven't had lockups on, that has been basically solid running. Sounds like your having some user created issues, FC's on that many things happening like that has to be something with your backups from Titanium or Mybackup Root.. Occasional FC's will happen on any ROM, even stock from time to time but your definitely getting way above the normal. Like I said, I can agree on the lockups at shutdown occasionally but all the random FC's and other issues your having seems to be user related (sorry, not to point fingers). I've been running this now for about 4 days straight and have had maybe 1 FC and a few shutdown lockups but thats the extent of things.

Thanks for the upload. Unfortunately, when I installed the app, my phone started to have a lot of problems and it just about reset my phone. Most of the apps I had on the phone came up with FC errors. I had to uninstall the app and reinstall it. Also, when I tried to shut the phone off the power button would not bring up the menu. It would either freeze the phone or turn off the screen.

Any thoughts?

Shouldn't be having issues with SetCPU.. Go ahead and set that to what you like, I run the undervolt for best battery... 200-1000 (On Demand)

LP should be fine, I updated with no issues.

Strange, that was pulled right from the stock EC05 deodexed ROM..

I'll look into it.

Strange, I flashed the same zip I gave you and Allshare works fine.. Never used it before but it connected to my router and found my main backup drive and loaded up a few media clips to play...

I have both, I have used both, and I have had no problems. I havent had a single freeze, force close, or app failing to work since Ive loaded to ACE (EXCEPT when I tried Genocide kernel and had messed with manual undervolting). I flashed back to Twilight and ive had no issues. Ive powered down a few times and havent had a lockup yet. This has been (aside from 1.7) the only ROM without an issue since Ive bought the phone.

FWIW, I wiped data/factory reset 3 times, wiped cache 3 times, then wiped dalvik cache 3 times and wiped battery stats. I then flashed Twilight kernel later on..

I just loaded the Ace 2.0 ROM to try out. I was wondering if there is a way to get the circle type battery in the status bar? The Android guy battery is kind of hard to read.

Well, I Wiped the phone at reinstalled Ace 2.0 and then installed Allshare and it seems everything is working fine now. I'm thinking something I had downloaded before i installes AllShare cause an issue. It's probably best if anyone is going to install and apps that were on the Sprint Rom, to install them before installing anything else.

Correct me if im wrong Paul627g, but shouldnt he be able to flash any CIQ free theme?

Scroll down until you get to the Themes section on ptfdmedic's MidNight page and you should be able to use any of those. I think that would give you a MidNight theme (including possibly the MidNight Dialer), but they are nice and that would give you something other than the Android dude..

My understanding is Twilight is baked into the ROM.

Did you flash the kernal separately just to avoid any problems? Or am I missing something?

My experience. Been running ACE 2.0 for 2 days. One freeze on initial shutdown ... otherwise smooth sailing. Prior to this with some other EC05 based ROMS I developed issues with the music player freezing and instability as I themed the ROM and added some other apps.

I'll report back more later as I take ACE through a full spin.
