So I flashed vision kernel 1.1 and had FC's all over the place! Anyone know why that would happen? Also does the vision kernel contain the random freezes?
I can verify Vision Kernel v1.1 works fine, I'm running it for about 2 days now.

Try booting back into CWM and running Fix Permissions in the advanced menu first...

Ok, I'll try that, I just flashed ACE 2.0 again. Should I wipe anything before flashing the kernel or just run fix permissions? Would it have anything to do with a bad download? I downloaded vision kernel v1.1 on my phone... Then flashed it

Question regarding SetCPU; When creating the widget do yo set refresh rate to anything or leave it alone at passive? Thanks..

It's been my experience that when flashing kernals all you need to wipe is the cache in the main menu, and the Dalvik-cache in the advanced menu, 3x each. Fix permissions isn't necessarily needed after every flash, but if you run into an onslaught of fc's, it sometimes helps. A corrupted download can never be ruled out unfortunately, especially if downloaded straight from the phone. The data connection could have been flakey leaving you with hic-cups (for lack of a better term) in the download. Try downloading it from your computer and sideloading it onto your sd, I recommend making a separate file to keep and organize you mods. I use zzz_mods based on the recommendation from one of the users here actually. Good luck to ya!

Ok awesome I'll wipe what you recommended and download it on my pc which is how I normally handle my phone mods and in a separate file. Thanks again!

ACE Rom v2.0 is by far the best rom I've ever had. Its very smooth and almost NO bugs. I need a stable daily driver and I'm pretty positive that ACE 2.0 is it! Thank you so much for you work Paul! I'll be looking forward to flashable .zips for ACE 2.0.

@dcraig, thanks.

On the kernel flashing subject.. Normally you don't have to do any wipes at all when flashing a kernel. I never have. Fixing permissions is an option when you do run into a flood of FC's. Downloading things that you flash to your phone is many times a bad idea. Most of the time it works out fine but occasionally you run into that data transfer bug that causes the file to be corrupt. Normally best to download to computer then transfer via cable to phone.

Working on a flashable battery mod for ACE right now. Same exact look, just a change in battery mod.

I leave it alone if I'm going to create the widget. I had the widget for awhile but now that I just leave mine set at 200-1000 Mhz, On Demand for Vision Kernel v1.1, I just set it and ignore it and don't even bother with a widget.

+1 To quote Ron "Ronco" Popeil, "Set it and forget it!"

Oh, so that setting is refreshing the widget... Ah.. I thought it pulsed the actual CPU voltage.. Makes sense.. Thanks as always..

My favorite widget is Temp+CPU V2 from the market (free). There is a paid version that I have never tried- the free version gives you the Mhz rating of the CPU, the % cpu being used, the temperature of the CPU, and it tells you the amount of free RAM left... I liked it better than the SetCPU widget.. I already know what voltages im running at any given clock speed, and the Mhz on the widget shows the CPU Mhz as it scales. Its a pretty awesome monitor..

Must convert to EXT4/CWM3.0.0.6, see OP installation instructions.

ugh. do you know if there is a good EC05Rom that I can install with CWM2.5? I cant convert to CWM3 because my phone is not being recognized by my computer so I cant do the one click thing

Great looking rom! Unfortunately for me though, there are a lot of freezes, roughly 3 minutes into usage, which result in a battery pullout. The home keys seem to stay lit but the haptic feedback is not there. I thought it might have been the twilight kernal because the same thing happens when I try to flash syndicate but after flashing the vision kernal with ace, the freezing still persists :/ Really want to use this rom but I don't know what to do...I've tried reflashing the rom many times, starting back from stock using odin, wiping data, cache, dalvic, etc...anyone have any suggestions? Help would be greatly appreciated :)

You're using CWM 3.x.x.x right? With the orange lettering?

Sounds like a bad download or a bad flash; redownload ACE, flash back to ECO5 via Odin (then boot up to stock, leave it for 20 minutes, come back and shutdown), wipe date/factory reset 3 times, wipe cache 3 times, wipe dalvik cache 3 times, reinstall ACE (the freshly downloaded version) via CWM, and prosper ;)

It must be a bad download, because ACE has been a rock for me..

**EDIT** And yes, make sure you are on CWM 3.0.0.5/6

Have you tried doing a flash via Odin? Perhaps Odin will recognize it (using 1 + on button). I have had that issue with other ROMs where the phone wasnt even acknowledged, but Odin recognized it since that has nothing to do with the ROM.

Midnight has an RFS version. Also, I had issue with Odin and the one click root recognizing my phone, I switched from an XP computer to ones running Vista and Windows 7 and they finally worked. And on the first try too.

it does not recognize it im desperate at this point

If I were you, I would try the samsung software update tool available on their website to try and get it back to stock. If that doesn't work, I would desperately try to figure out a way to get a stock eb13 or ec05 on there and take it in under warranty..

Yep. Using CWM 3.0.0.6
