ROM ALERT: SyndicateROM v1.0.2 (Shuriken) [Update4]

Alright, after I patched over to the new update, this ROM and Extreme Kernel post update definitely blows Baked_Snack out of the water.

what theme are you running?

This ROM seems to be very stable, the only thing it is missing is the standard Android calendar ported to the ROM. I had Baked Snack before this and it was very unstable using Touchwiz. My benchmarks are awesome and my battery life is not that bad.

Just so you guys know I only wanted heisrisen benchmark for the sake of comparison b/c I was using baked rom with xtreme kernel.

Just saying because its remarkedly redundant to post screenies of the same scores.

Those scores definitely blew baked snack out of the water, but it just didn't translate to smoothness for me within the ROM.

Ok I feel really stupid but I downloaded all three versions but only flashed one and forgot which one that was. Is there a way to tell in about phone. Don't think I used fully loaded caused I have no sprint apps but not for sure exactly.

Also I'm having issues updaqting apps with this rom. They are just stuck t downloading. =hey will get to 100% but not install. Any ideas?

well does it say "xtreme" in the build number?
if so then you probably do not have the slim version unless you flashed the kernel too.

also look in your apps, if you have thinkfree office then i think you have the fully loaded rom. im not sure though because i dont know the differene between fully loaded and standard.

and theres really nothing you can do about the market that i know about. i think its just a bug with the 2.2 market. because on a few other roms i was using i had all kinds of problems with the market. if you cancel, end market and redownload it should install. i had one stall on me earlier today

Yeah I finally got the market to work. Nothing bout the rom causing it. The problems are on googles end. Did figure out which rom I used which was standard.

Thanks again guys :)

WOW everyone thank you for all your nice comments and encoureging words. This is what motivates us to continue. Thank you to the OP For updating the links etc. Anyone ever has any questions or requests I am now subscribed to this thread so I will be checking in on it more often.

I would also like to thank the staff here at AndroidCentral.com for their support and encouragement as well.

There will soon be a SYNDICATE Froyo release no exact date but I wouldn't think much more than the end of the week?????? hhhmmm

Thank you again

Sincerely
Robert

No problem Robert! Your ROM is very popular among many members here :D

Froyo Syndicate ROM huh? This might actually get me to pull the trigger early instead of waiting for official 2.2 (Hulu compatible I hope?)

alright, maybe a stoopid question, but I figured someone here would be able to answer best ... I love the Syndicate ROM/Extreme Kernel combo for the Epic but I am stuck on Verizon with the Fascinate. Very similar Galaxy S phone and I am wondering how hard it would be to get the dynamic duo to run on it. At the very least, I was thinking I could try the kernel for now, but it would be incredible if both worked somehow.
thanks

that is in no way doable at the time.
and if you know nothing about programming, which im just taking a guess that you dont, then its very hard to get it running on your device.

if anything the rom is more likely to get you farther than the kernel. just so you dont do anything dumb, dont do it. i said itll get you farther as in maybe it wont paperweight your phone.

the best you can do is go on xda and ask the developers to port it to your device
fascinate is likely to never get it though. sadly

Sorry to say, but if you have to ask then it's probably over your head. I would definitely advise against flashing a ROM/kernel from another phone, unless you want to activate paperweight mode

Your best course of action would be to contact the developers and see if you could persuade them to port their work to the Fascinate, and volunteer to be a beta tester since they probably do not own your phone. I would say your chances are better than most since Syndicate has a team of devs, not just one.

This was my first time installing a custom rom. I did the three wipes, installed rom through clockwork, everything went smooth. One thing i have noticed is my modem goes into 1x more than usual. Am i missing anything?

Also, what's with the battery calibration? am i supposed to do it? I've been getting good battery life with the Standard version with setcpu set to 100min and 1ghz max.

Not sure about the signal strength. As for battery calibration, a lot of people do it and say it helps but I've never done it personally and my battery is great.

Is apps2sd enabled on this?

Don't think so. If you want App2SD on Eclair, use Baked Snack v1.6 - but if you use a Froyo based ROM it is already built in.
