[ROM][AOSP][4.0.3] Codename Android 1.5.5 [Full Open Source]

Just dawned on me the 1.1.1 file says (MOD) is there a base file to use first?

That file is the full ROM. It threw me off too when I saw MOD in the filename, but it was too big to be a mod and I flashed it successfully.

I haven't had a bootloop problem, so I don't really know what to tell you. I started with 1.0.1 and only wiped cache and dalvik when applying 1.1.1.

Re: [ROM][AOSP][4.0.3] Codename Android 1.1.1 [Full Open Source]

I think it would be helpful if there was a link in the main post of this thread that leads to the Rootzwiki thread for this ROM because the dev is posting there and also responding to people. I don't think he's posting here, is he?

I updated the main post with the new version 1.1.1 and also a link to the thread a rootzwiki for anyone who needs it.

Re: [ROM][AOSP][4.0.3] Codename Android 1.1.1 [Full Open Source]

I've been bouncing back and forth b/w numerous forums including Rootzwiki. There are so many pages to sift through it's getting frustrating. If there is a base file I haven't found it yet, b/c this isn't working for me right now.

File has been has checked and matches. I've done the ROM manager steps, wiped all data in recovery, then just boot loops after installing.

Only thing I can think of is trying to download it again because you shouldn't get any boot loops.

Re: Need help please.....

Did you wipe data, cache and dalvik cache then format /system? If not then this is why you went to a bootloop. People using ROM Manager seem to get bootloops more frequently then people who just download the file from a website and flash it themselves.

I agree, flashing yourself in recovery has much less chance of problems.

Code Name: First Install Failed: Please help

I am running stock ODEXED ICS. Radio is 4.02. This is the first ROM I have tried to flash and have followed all the instructions but I may be missing something.

I've already rooted and unlocked the bootloader. I downloaded the correct ROM (around 100 MB) and saved it, and the GAPPS files, to my phone----Do I need to save the files in a specific location?

I've got Clockwork Mod installed and set it up so that recovery-from.boot.p was renamed recovery-from.boot.p.bak so that CWD is permanently installed.

1. Booted manually into Clockwork MOD
2. Wiped Data/Factory Reset
3. Wiped Cache
4. Wiped Dalvik Cache
5. Cleared Battery Stats
6. Mounted System
7. Installed Codename 1.01 zip
8. Installed GAPPS
9. Reboot System

My phone will show the Google Logo with the Padlock and just sit there.
The Codename.zip only seems to take 20 seconds to install.
I stored the Codename ROM in GNEXUS/Codename directory

Do I need to actually install Codename 1.00 first, update my radios, deodex my system?

The good news is, I can pull the battery, boot into recovery, reinstall my backup in about 10 minutes, but with an unlocked bootloader and rooted phone, I want to try some new things.

I don't think you should do #6. I've never heard of mounting /system before flashing a rom.

Re: [ROM][AOSP][4.0.3] Codename Android 1.1.1 [Full Open Source]

I have been trying all Fing day to flash this ROM and I keep flashing the wrong file. I am trying to use ROM Manager to make it easier and faster. The first time I flashed the CodenameDroid 1.1.1 (MOD) and it got stuck in a boot loop. Restored from backup. The second time I flashed the ICS-GAPPS-4.0.3-011212 and that didn't work. Which freaking file am I supposed to flash to make it work? They all have (MOD) except the GAPPS one that I tried. Any help would be appreciated.

Gapps is the google apps not the rom. If you have 1.0, then u can just flash the update mod to 1.0.1 , otherwise go to the op or rootzwiki, dl the whole file for the rom, and flash in recovery mode, not rom manager, after wiping data, cache, and dalvik to be safe. Then, flash gapps, and youre set.

Re: [ROM][AOSP][4.0.3] Codename Android 1.1.1 [Full Open Source]

I finally got 1.1.1 to flash from within ROM Manager. In settings it came up finally as 4.0.3. Flashing the GAPPS now. Hopefully I am on my way to getting back up and running.

Re: [ROM][AOSP][4.0.3] Codename Android 1.1.1 [Full Open Source]

has anyone seen this before? maps is the only gapp that wouldnt take. the apk is in system/app but wont install. system was mounted is r/w and still no go. suggestions?

Re: [ROM][AOSP][4.0.3] Codename Android 1.1.1 [Full Open Source]

I tried running 1.1.1 with jd's kernel all day. Battery was horrible. Flashed back to Franco's kernel was working much better. Rom was smooth with both. I still noticed Google maps was running on its own with both kernels so it could be something with the rom or another app turning it on. Does anyone else have this happening?
