[ROM][AOSP][4.0.3] Codename Android 1.5.5 [Full Open Source]

re: [ROM][AOSP][4.0.3] Codename Android 1.1.1 [Full Open Source]

I have read different quirks with Titanium but after loading CND, I did a batch restore of a few apps. It seems like some worked and some did not. Is this just me or or there some tweaks to TiB that I need to make? Maybe my backup did not work correctly? It says that the app was restored but it did not.

Thanks,

I apologize for my rant. I misread that post.
Thank you cyber warrior for your help.
I just switched to jd's kernel from Franco's just to see how it runs. Franco's ran fine just trying to find best battery usage. Have found that swipe unlock lagged on axiom and codename. Has anyone else experienced this?

I've had no problems at all with TiBu. Was your ROM install completely clean?

Yes, I wiped everything - factory restore in CWM, wipe cache, wipe dalvik and then wiped system.

I have also noticed that Google maps turns itself on. Every once in a while I open the task manager and it will be running even though I never opened it.
Anyone else notice this?
I haven't had problems with tibu but last time I flashed I used my backup pro. When I went to restore everything it said my files were corrupt. That's why I use both.

Edweb I misread your post. Sorry for the rant. I apologize. Look for Franco's Kernel at XDA developers. And there's a comprehensive list on Rootzwiki of other kernels.

No worries man. Thanks.

re: [ROM][AOSP][4.0.3] Codename Android 1.1.1 [Full Open Source]

I installed this ROM from recovery and it's been in the boot phase (colorful boxes) now for 15 minutes. Is this normal or should I continue letting it do it's thing?

re: [ROM][AOSP][4.0.3] Codename Android 1.1.1 [Full Open Source]

I did the same thing and mine is still in boot phase for awhile. Pulled battery and tried to install from clockwork backup zip and the file was there, but when I selected that backup file it said no file found. Need help please.

Well, I was letting it work, then p/u'd the phone and the battery fell out. Guess it wasn't secured. I went back to flash stock + unroot and starting all over. I hope this is the right way:confused:

Need help please.....

I did all the steps to unlock, root etc. Installed Rom Manager. Did backup of current ROM. Downloaded the Codename ROM from within rom manager. rebooted in recovery and did the install from sd card, etc. etc. etc. Went into clockwork and selected the codename rom. It appeared to install. Rebooted phone and now I am in never ending boot loop.

Pulled battery went into recovery mode and tried to select the backup file from rom manager. the file was there but when I selected it, it said no file found. So now my phone is stuck in bootloop and I can't get it back up.

Someone please help me!

Thanks
Bryan

bootloops are usually caused by not wiping data cache on flash

i'd reboot into cwm and manually wipe data cache and reflash code name...should fix you up

worst case there are threads out there that go over restoring your phone to stock, even in the bootloop you should be able to do that.

Lol dude after like 6-7 minutes its usually safe to assume you are bootlooping.. Just batt pull, rewipe everything and flash. I'd check the MD5 of your file in case you got a bad download too.

Just dawned on me the 1.1.1 file says (MOD) is there a base file to use first?

Re: [ROM][AOSP][4.0.3] Codename Android 1.1.1 [Full Open Source]

I think it would be helpful if there was a link in the main post of this thread that leads to the Rootzwiki thread for this ROM because the dev is posting there and also responding to people. I don't think he's posting here, is he?

Re: Need help please.....

Did you wipe data, cache and dalvik cache then format /system? If not then this is why you went to a bootloop. People using ROM Manager seem to get bootloops more frequently then people who just download the file from a website and flash it themselves.

I've been bouncing back and forth b/w numerous forums including Rootzwiki. There are so many pages to sift through it's getting frustrating. If there is a base file I haven't found it yet, b/c this isn't working for me right now.

File has been has checked and matches. I've done the ROM manager steps, wiped all data in recovery, then just boot loops after installing.
