I flashed this rom after truly epic. It was amazing. I tried flashing it with stock dk28 and it would boot up, freeze, and loop boot a few times. Then vibrate randomly and continue to do so.

Why is this?

I had this similar problems (vibrate and stuck in rebooting loop) when I tried to fix my GPS via this link, option 4 (http://forum.androidcentral.com/epi...s/47362-four-ways-fix-gps-problems-froyo.html). Note - only option 2 worked when I was using RFS.

Although I did not try to flash DK28, it happened no matter which ROM I was on - I tried midNIGHT 3.2 & Bonsai 2.01. But the problem was not happening when I was on Bonsai 1.1.4. If my GPS was off, I would be able to use optin 4 and it would catch pretty quick. Now my GPS works pretty good as long as I reboot every so often.

When this happened (vibrate & rebooting loop), I would remove the battery, reboot in CWM, wipe cache/davlik, and flash my ROM again. Still can't figure out why this is happening tho.

I can't get the stock camera application to start after I installed this rom..it just exits out once I click the icon or press the side button for the camera app..advice?

Yes, I've been busy. Lol.

Alright, for whatever reason I cant flash from dk28 however I can from truly epic.

I love this rom. so fast!

Let me rephrase in detail.

I had etc dk28 installed. I rooted and installed clockwork. Then I installed truly epic. Later I installed this rom. It seemed like this rom looked exactly like truly epic and just did the background stuff.

Later I flashed to dk28 again with odin. Rooted again. Installed just this rom with clockwork. I got the sprint splash screen instead of bonsai. Then an android logo on top of it. Every time the phone rebooted and would fc apps vibrate in off beat patterns and reboot. It would continue without end.

Aren't you supposed to do the DK28 first before you do Bonsai (or any other rom for that matter)?

How do you do a custom boot screen with this rom? I want the bios from truly epic. Really like that boot screen.

installing new ROM and bricked

I rooted my Epic today, confirmed that was done correctly, then updated to Froyo 2.2.1 DK28. Wifi was unstable with that, but my goal was to flash to bonzai anyway. I put the bonzai zip file on the SD card, did a three button boot and installed the rom that way. I got the error message

ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.1.0
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log

I don't know if that's significant, but when I booted the system again, it just hangs on the Samsung welcome screen forever. Any ideas?

What version of Bonzai did you flash?

Goto How To Factory Restore or Fix a Bricked Phone sticky and do one of two things.

- Do the factory restore method back to Eclair 2.1 (stock)

- try the New Restore to Froyo option


From what your saying you went into CWM 2.X.X.X and tried to flash to the newest Bonsai without doing the conversion to CWM3/EXT4 ? If so then there is your problem.

Thanks for your help, but after far too many hours of reading and fussing with this, I was forced to resign myself to going back to ?clair. I was able to install CWM3 on DI18 but not on DK28. Installing DK28 caused CW to revert back to too low a version for Bonsai. If I tried to install CWM3 on DK28 it wouldn't do it complaining that it was taking over 60 seconds to connect. Thank goodness for Odin.

Bonsai Issue with Bluetooth headset

Hey all,

I Recently flashed to the Bonsai ROM and have been noticing when I make a voice call using my Bluetooth (Jawbone Icon) AFTER I've ended the call I hear a very Faint popping/crackling sound coming directly from the Earpiece... I used ODIN to get me back to the Stock DI18 ROM from Sprint and the popping stops... Wierd huh? my questions are:

1. has anyone ever come across this??
2. are there any fixes that anyone knows of?

I'm a little new to the Modified/cooked ROMs but really liked this ROM any help is greatly appreciated.

Had an experience today. Rebooted the phone. Lost all user data. Also had to reinstall all third party apps. They kept force closing after this happened.

I noticed there's no MyFiles in this rom. How does one check for files on SD card? I can't seem to find a place for it.

Gee, that should be the first thing said about this ROM then, in bold letters before beginning a download. I was just close to flashing it, but there's no 4g anywhere in my area - right next to NYC. I think I'll wait on this one.

Oh I know. Before when I had Viper Rom which has a data governer killer, I used to be able to pull off 1Mbps down and like 0.5Mbps up when I only had 1 bar of service. Now I get the same results when my bars are at 4-5 bars.
