If you plan on using TouchWiz this is a very nice ROM. If you don't use TouchWiz, I'd suggest the TrulyEpic ROM (my personal favorite so far).

Quick update for anyone wondering, very nice ROM. Only had 1 FC from TouchWiz in 24 hours.

I've been off the charger for 16 hrs and done some heavy txting, a fair amount of wi-fi surfing, about 30 mins of calls, taken half a dozen pics/uploaded and alot of playing around in general and still at 36% on the battery..

GPS is working nice too, locking in a 2 meters at home. Locking in at 1 meter while driving today with Navigator.

Anyone looking for a quality ROM that really seems to be almost bug free so far and good battery life, I suggest you check this one out.

The bootup the dev put in is awesome too!

Yes it is, and I don't like it either. I'm actually using the launcher from TrulyEpic with this ROM and love it. If you want to try it out download it here.

Hey Ragnarokx! Happy Holidays!
I'm using Truly Epic.. with Launcher Pro+. But the LP+ (beta) gives me issues at times. My main beef with TouchWiz was that I couldn't change the dock icons or at least change what they did. Ex.: Messaging icon to Handcent instead of stock messaging. With the new TW3, can you change the dock icons? Or at least what they launch?

And, if the launcher is a non issue, what is the best ROM out there?

The TouchWiz incuded with Froyo is in fact fully customizable, from the dock to the app drawer. If you want to try it out flash the Samsung Apps Restore. I recently switched to ADW EX v1.0 myself, so that may be worth checking out also (but it is a paid app).

If you want a new ROM to try besides TrulyEpic, I'd go for Bonsai4All. Of the recently updated ROMs it's my favorite. The developer Mammon even tweaked the Froyo kernel (and is the first to do so IIRC).

I cannot get my 'airplane mode' to stop flickering on and off. I wonder if it is because the airplane mode won't stay turned off, but I have no signal either.

any ideas?

Update:
I can no longer get past the Samsung "samsungmobile.com" screen. Is this a confirmed brick?

Multiple reboots and once it rebooted, a flash back to factory settings, then a restart and a reflash of bonzai - all is well.

So odd, I'm scared out of my patootsies to install Froyo when it comes out now.

Techiechick and Ragnarokx- you may want to try ZEAM as a launcher. It's very simple and has what I feel is the most simple to use custom dock out there. You simply drag and drop. You can even drag a folder to the dock! There's spacing options too so you can squish a lot into the dock- or space it out so you have only 5 seen on the bottom at any time- and it infinitely (I think) scrolls- so you're not limited like ADW or LPP+. Also the widget spacing option of asking how large works better than the wonky click drag of LPP+.

I use folder organizer (paid app) to customize the icons of my folders and change the icons of apps too- and I can then use zeam and simply drag them to the dock! No other launcher allows me to do this this easily.

Very clean menus and very easy to use. I keep trying LPP+ and ADW (not paid version EX yet) and I keep coming back to Zeam.

I just switched to ADW EX (it runs smooth on EXT4). When I'm ready to switch launchers again I'll definitely give Zeam a try - I've seen it discussed many times, just never sought it out for whatever reason.
