[ROM][CM10][JB] Euroskank JellyBro

Those apps are so baked into the system you might brake something if you do manage to remove them somehow, just use the superuser app and hide ROM manager (Nova).

Beamed from my GneX via TaPaTalK. ;)

That's probably my best bet. I hid superuser and Rom manager. I'm still going to use superSU

Nah you can delete them just fine.. I use Root explorer, just go to /system/app, hit mount RW up top, then find ROM Manager and delete it. Alternatively you can uninstall system apps via Titanium Backup.. same difference tho.

Why are you trying to get rid of superuser?

Flashed latest update rom and getting "processing system is not responding". I click on wait and everything is fine. Anyone else get this message? I did a clean install.

I got that too, didn't seem to have any ill effects :)

I haven't gotten this message. When does it appear for you? On boot?

I'm glad to be back on JellyBro. It's definitely a step above AOKP in terms of stability and butteriness right now.

I'm curious about something here, what gaaps are you using and did you wipe anything (data, system)before flashing ?
Just found out that there's a restore script built into this ROM (still cloudy on how it works) but your files should be in system/ addon.d/
Check it out, I'm still tripn out on it.

Yup, just did a clean install and getting the same thing. If I swipe away all the duplicate entries, then exit/re-enter the recent drawer, it'll fix itself and say "No recent apps".

Because I'd prefer to use superSU, I don't want to use the older superuser

I have been using the gapps(7/26) that are in goo.im.
I dont have any duplicate apps in my app drawer.
I do use dark jelly inverted apps apk but when I flashed everything together >CM10 Rom update>gapps(goo.im)>DarkJelly inverted apps V5 apk. I have no duplicate apps.
For those with duplicate apps did this just star happening with the last update ?

I also had a random reboot yesterday for the first time on this ROM. Really surprised me considering how smooth, fast and stable it has been..

This ROM got a tiny bit buggy for me after the VZW binaries were introduced. Is this a coincidence or consequence? LOL

Still a great ROM, but I'm back to CNA for now. Runs perfect as far as I can tell and has a little more to offer.

I'm sure that bugginess will trickle down ;)

Has anyone on here used the Euroskank aokp in their goo folder? I'm switching to this aosp one now, couldn't handle the multitude of random reboots on aokp. I'm guna be quite upset when he uploads another one later today and I have to crackflash it before I leave work...

I'm not seeing duplicate apps in my app drawer, just duplicated in the recent apps list sporadically when using the task switching button.

Saw at rootzwiki that should be fixed in today's build

Speaking of rootzwiki I saw a discussion of DF'ing being the preferred method for the nightly? It was over my head though. Can anyone simplify it for me?

For flashing new nightlies, I prefer dirty.

Here's the difference.

[INFO]Dirty Flashing
  • Wipe cache
  • Wipe dalvik cache (in advanced)
  • Wipe system (i.e. format system in mounts/storage)
  • Flash rom + gapps in same session

Clean/Full Flashing
  • Wipe data (this also wipes the cache)
  • Wipe cache (just do it lol, it's good to make it habitual)
  • Wipe dalvik cache (also think this occurs above, but do it anyway; in advanced)
  • Wipe system (i.e. format system in mounts/storage)
  • Flash rom + gapps in same session
[/INFO]

As you see, the main difference is with a full flash you're wiping the data partition, which includes your apps/info. With a dirty flash, you only wipe the caches and system. System is wiped--even though it's usually wiped in the updater script--because that's where the rom "sits." You want to make sure that partition is fully clear before putting a new rom in its place. It eliminates bugs/headaches :).

In TWRP, all of these are under the "wipes" menu. In fact, it's in clockwise order--cache/dalvik (left to right) then system is underneath dalvik. If you do a full wipe/flash, then you start at data, move up to cache, move right to dalvik, then down to system. I do them all regardless if something like data/factory reset does it, because I like to be thorough :).
