You could install cognition 4.2 and then with SGS tools flash a different kernal which will help with the extreme battery consumption reported.

thanks i flashed 4.2.2 and I havnt had any battery issues so far still getting a full day out of it with wifi on constantly and listening to music and podcasts my kernel is 2.6.32.9 if it matters

Just FYI 4.3 is out, without the battery drain. . . looks good!

Can anyone get the hotspot to work without having to get it provisioned by ATT? This is with the 4.3 rom.

I used the 4.2 Cog hotspot while on vacation without issues. Not sure there is an issue with it on any custom ROM. Can you not get it to work?

Its saying, "A Tethering/Mobile Hotspot plan is required to use this service. Please go to att.com/myWireless or dial 611 if you do not alrady have this service provisioned." Do note I tried other roms such as Paragon and this message does not come up.

I sure hope that is not an indicator of things to come. It is usually the kernel that allows this feature I think... have you flashed a separate kernel by chance, or stock cog? If you are running the cogkernel, I would post in the xda thread to see what is up. Maybe someone forgot something.

I can't remember off the top of my head but I think I'm on Cog 4.1 and the battery is my only problem, how much better is 4.3?

My wife still uses it on her phone, compared to my phone running apex GB, its no comparison.

My phone trumps hers in every aspect. 2.2 is no match for 2.3, lol

I wanna flash this but I'm leery. I have soft bricked 2 captivates already. I have flashed plenty of Tom's on my old optimus phone, but things are different on the captivate. I am rooted with stock froyo. I believe I have CWM 2. Something. What do I need for this rom and the step by step installation. I looked at the website but I'm still a little unclear. There was not instructions for coming from stock froyo. Any help would be awesome.


PS. Does this have lag fix or can I or should I use a lag fix with this?
