hey
so im on cognitiion 2.4.1 and obviously want to upgrade to the latest version now but when i instaled cognition everything got wiped
i have titanium back up but am not sure of the exact steps i should take to back up correctly then install the rom(i have rom manager aswell) and then restore my apps can anyone let me know what i should do?
what backups should i make first?
can i use rom manager to install the rom?
how do i restore everything(and i do mean everything) after the install
Can somebody walk me through on how to install 4.1.1?
I have v 2.2 Beta 9.1.3 on my Captivate right now, I just want to upgrade.
^^ Thanks, but I already have it on.
I'm just looking to update it. Without losing my data/apps.
So, I ran into a problem.
I used Titanium Backup to backup all my crap (Even if it was lost, I had a backup on my computer)
And then, I used Clockwork to flash the new ROM, and it error'd, and now there's no ROM installed on my phone.
It just boots into the Samsung Recovery Utility, and there's no update.zip on the phone, so I can't just "reinstall packages".
Anything left for me to do? All I want is the 4.2.1 ROM on it...
I downloaded that from the usual place too. Just checked it now, live and working.
Download Cognition v3.04 for Captivate!
New version must have new link-
[ROM] Cognition 4.2.2 | Defies Gravity | VIDEO REVIEW - xda-developers
Cog 4.1x is where I would go, if you are looking for the Cognition/Stock feel. The latest one is implementing some features into i897 from i9000... and it doesn't appear to be going totally smooth. It always was a little more, cutting edge, with i9000 stuff. The draw for Cog for me was always the reliability.
Were it me wanting to stay on Cog, I would load the latest version of 4.1 prior to the new kernel.
