[ROM]COLD AS ICE-CM9+Paranoid Android LS670 11/20 ZVD basesband Alpha19

Re: [ROM]COLD AS ICE-CM9 Sprint LS670 6/26 ZVD basesband Alpha16

So actually, before I flash 16E....i wanted to mention that I had 3G issues for the first time today. This happened to me on a previous alpha some time ago...but not since. Basically after a while of non-use, 3G would just stop working completely. It would say that it was connected to 3G, but it would stay white and ping tests would fail. Rebooting fixes it (temporarily).

Yeah that happens to me periodically too. You don't have to reboot when it does that, just toggle mobile data off then back on.

Why does a lot of you guys get problems I haven't had a problem with anything everything works perfectly fine for me really I delete the caches and flash the rom without deleting my data and everything works just fine for me no random reboots no boot loops anything but thanks kraven for all the hard work you put into this :D

Seriously, it's only six posts above yours.

It figures, I've done PC repairs for years. Its amazing how many of the same computers have so many different chipsets. On fresh installs, getting the correct drivers installed was sometimes tricky.
But one way I used was while it was still an unknown device was to pull up the device details an switch it to hardware ID. It gave u the exact one.
Is there any way to do that for our phones?
What about cdma workshop or something like that? If we knew what exact chipset we had, would it make any difference?? Then we could compare for ones who were having issues vs the ones who didn't?
if anyone wants to try this, I've NOT had most of the issues described here. I'll see if I can find mine an post back results and how I found them.

Just flashed alpha16E, working good, no problems installing, speaker phone works great, 3g, etc. No new issues, I'll check if specific contact ringtones work on this build and I'll let you know.

Great work kraven! This from should jump from alpha to R.C!

BTW I am old and ready to retire :) anyway since I am a hardware Engineer I think you touch an important point here. I bet you that the phones that are having issues is because they do not have the same hardware that those that do work. Working closely to manufacturing had teach me that we specify different vendors in order to provide fast response to customer demands and sometimes on papers looks like it is the same chip but in reality it changes somehow. I do not know of such utility on the phones and I know there is an utility on windows that does that, as my hobby has been to repair computer I do encounter the same issue that you explained.

The question now, for me, is why thekraven speaker phone does not boot and the one from tdm does when it came from the p500 on their fix posts? Will try to get a logcat of each to compare.

Fresh install of 16E and gapps, Mount2SD 4.5.0. Thoughts:
  • If phone is plugged in when told to reboot, it will go into offline charging instead. Must unplug to reboot successfully.
  • 16E installed without issues.
Still restoring apps and such. More thoughts once I take it on the road with me later.

im not sure what the differences from tdm's rom to thekravens rom is but there must be something different. tdm's will boot just fine as well on my end

Hold power in offline charging mode until you see LG logo and it will boot.

I'll test my theories on board chip versions in a bit. Cutting grass, Florida rains are killing me...
But quick question, I saw in alpha 13 the bt calling was fixed. What caused that? Can someone make a flash of just that update part ? I tried looking thru the github, but I still done understand that yet.
I'm testing with a few roms and I wanna see if I can fix it.
Thanks

First, how did you pull that out of the phone. Second, I see no listing about the audio / sound. The speaker phone audio libs are what fail on load in the logcat.

Well that's a start. If he/she can post how that was pulled it may be enough to tell a difference. But, as we've discussed, there's so many variables we may need more. I think the most important part may be from a board revision test. Because, exact revisions "should" have identical chipset.
Every time a revision comes out its using different ones. Or just different firmware.
Edited:
As we can see in that post, the board info is blanked out. It needs to be read deeper.

@thekraven, as an aside note, I see you are trying non-linaro. Linaro builds are creeping into the kindle fire builds and the Krait bionic optimizations are making a difference. They can also be used on non-linaro builds. Just FYI if you are interested and they apply. I notice you like the newest tools. ;)

Futher thoughts:
  • No 3G or wifi problems at home or on the road.
  • GPS seems to lock quicker than in the 15 builds.
  • Bluetooth audio still works. Nothing seems broken from prior builds.
  • MMS confirmed working on my phone.
  • Still not entering Deep Sleep mode.
Seems like a good build to me, Deep Sleep aside.

So... I downgraded my phone from ZVJ to ZVD and installed this... and didn't get a chance to even play with it before I received a phone call on it...
